Former NBA player Delonte West has had yet another run in with police after he was found unconscious in Virginia.

As reported by TMZ, the 42-year-old former basketball player was arrested on Monday (Nov. 3) and taken into custody by the Fairfax County Police Department. Authorities received a call reporting that a man had been found unconscious and did not appear to be breathing. When they arrived at the scene, officers found that he was still breathing, but he refused to be taken to a hospital.

They deduced that he was so drunk at the time that he needed to be arrested for his own safety. It’s unclear if he was hit with any charges, but he has since been bonded out.

West was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2008, something he has since disputed. Following his NBA career, during which played for teams including the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks, West has had many run-ins with the law.

He was first arrested in 2009 after he was pulled over for a traffic violation. When police searched his vehicle, they found he was carrying three different firearms. He was later spotted walking barefoot around Temple Hills, Maryland, in 2016, photos of which went viral. He was seen panhandling again in Dallas, Texas, in 2020, which prompted Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to pay for his drug rehabilitation treatment.

He was later arrested in October 2022 in Virginia when he appeared to be breaking into a car that did not belong to him. Last year, he was arrested for violating the terms of a previous release in June, and again in November when he was hit with trespassing charges.
