Following reports that he was under investigation for a domestic dispute case involving his wife, radio host Big Tigger has been arrested on aggravated battery and cruelty to children charges.
As reported by TMZ and confirmed by Complex, jail records show that the WVEE radio host, whose real name is Darian Morgan, was booked into Fulton County Jail in Georgia on Saturday (June 20). He was released that same day after posting surety bonds totaling $10,000, of which $9,000 was tied to the battery charge. Details regarding the incidents that resulted in the charges have not been publicly disclosed.
The news comes less than two weeks after Tigger was named as the primary suspect in a domestic dispute case involving his wife, Alicia Brown. She later issued a statement clarifying that she did not call Tigger “an abuser." Tigger also addressed the allegations and denied any wrongdoing.
“I want to say categorically that these allegations and accusations that have been circulating are false,” he said.
He also addressed allegations that he was having an affair with his co-host, Francesca Amiker.
“Additionally, it’s important to clarify that Francesca and I have never been anything more than friends and respected colleagues. I’d like to apologize to her for the impact of these last few days,” he added.
Amiker also denied the accusations.
Tigger has not publicly commented on the Saturday arrest. He did share a post on Instagram, however, vaguely referring to some of the tribulations he’s been going through.
“Life is a cruel teacher… she loves to give you the test first, and the lesson later,” read the image in the post, which he captioned, “Ohhhh but you gone learn.”
Despite the accusations and his arrest, Tigger has continued to host his morning radio show. Dispatch records regarding the domestic incident case show that Tigger’s wife received treatment for injuries following an alleged assault.
