Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter is one of the most successful country albums of the year, but the record didn't get a single nomination at the 2024 Country Music Awards.

On Monday, September 9, the CMAs announced the nominations for the 2024 awards and Beyoncé didn't get a nod, despite receiving widespread critical acclaim and occupying the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 for two weeks. All 23 tracks on the album eligible for charting also debuted on the Billboard Hot 100. Meanwhile, Shaboozey, who appeared on two tracks on the album, was nominated for New Artist of the Year and Single of the Year.

"That goes without saying. Thank you @Beyonce for opening a door for us, starting a conversation, and giving us one of the most innovative country albums of all time!" wrote Shaboozey on social media after the nominations were announced.

The nominations also include another one of Bey's Cowboy Carter collaborators, with Post Malone receiving five nominations off the back of his country pivot, F-1 Trillion. The most nominated artist of the CMA Awards, however, is Morgan Wallen, who picked up seven nods. In 2021, he was banned from attending the CMA Awards after a video showing him drunkenly using the n-word. Despite the ban, he was still nominated for Album of the Year.

Other nominees include Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton, who picked up five nominations each. Post Malone is tied with Lainey Wilson for four nominations, while other big names such as Kacey Musgraves, Jelly Roll, and Luke Combs picked up three nominations.
