Gucci Mane appears to address Pooh Shiesty on his new song “Crash Dummy,” released Friday (April 10), referencing an alleged January robbery and kidnapping involving the 1017 Records signee. Not long after teasing the Zaytoven-produced track, Gucci released the song, saying he believed he was walking into a business meeting that turned out to be a “setup.”
“Tell the truth, you went out like a real crash dummy, and after all that, boy, you still signed to me,” he raps on the song.
Elsewhere on the track, he maintains that he was looking forward to what he “thought” was a business meeting, adding that “it was a setup.”
“I walk in the room, you can feel the pressure building/N***a dapped me up there, whole time they plotting against me,” Gucci raps, referring to his robbery and kidnapping that Pooh allegedly led.
Gucci also appeared to address Pooh’s co-defendant Big30, one of the eight men accused of robbing and kidnapping him. The rapper, whose real name is Rodney Wright Jr., was granted $100,000 bond by a federal judge, only to see the order immediately stayed.
Pooh and eight others, including his father and Big30, could face life in prison after being charged in an alleged Dallas kidnapping and robbery. Prosecutors say the group lured victims to a studio under the guise of a business meeting before allegedly carrying out the incident.
At the time of the January incident, Pooh was already serving home confinement under a court-ordered ankle monitor tied to a 2022 federal conviction for conspiracy and drug trafficking.
Earlier this week, a Dallas federal judge ruled that Pooh Shiesty must remain in custody after finding probable cause in a kidnapping and armed robbery case tied to allegations involving Gucci Mane.
