Kali Uchis dialed up the chaos with some hilarious prank calls.
For the latest episode of Elle’s Phoning it In series, the Colombian-American singer prank-called friends JT, Kaytranada, and Omar Apollo to see how they would react to some pretty outrageous scenarios.
For her first prank victim, she asked Kaytranada, who was in Paris at the time of the recording, if she could host a red-themed album release party for 150 people at his Los Angeles home, complete with catering and painting the walls red.
With JT, she pretended a tabloid was about to publish a bombshell story claiming the City Girls rapper was the source of a rumor that Uchis’ vocals on their song “Muñekita” were AI-generated.
Finally, she told Omar Apollo that ten of her relatives from Colombia were arriving that night and asked if they could stay at his place for four days, saying she didn’t want to make them “uncomfortable” by putting that many people in a hotel.
