Latto stepped in to help a fan who supposedly lost her job after filming a video to her new song.

The 25-year-old rapper’s latest single “Brokey” off her new album Sugar Honey Iced Tea turned some heads with its boastful lyrics about her affluent lifestyle. The conversation online led several hip-hop fans to look back on the times their favorite rappers called them broke too.

As a consolation, Latto wanted to do something special for hard-working fans. She offered a $10,000 prize for whoever makes the best video at their workplace, plus getting flown out to appear in the music video for the track.

Last week, a user named Yadira Ramirez went viral after submitting her “Brokey” entry to TikTok featuring scenes of herself and her co-workers at an Atlanta-area Waffle House. The 30-second clip has since amassed 23 million views on the platform.

However, things took a turn when the 22-year-old shared a follow-up video to her account the following day explaining that she had been fired over the video.

“I just got fired because of that video of Big Latto's challenge. Yay, I'm glad I put six years in a company that would fire me and literally a day of posting one video—one video that harms nobody that everybody was actually literally rooting for and happy about,” Ramirez said in the clip.

“Then they put me on, it's called like AFR list or something. Basically, I can never get rehired again,” she added.

On Tuesday, Ramirez and Big Latto herself were seen linking up in a studio for another TikTok video uploaded to her account.

Latto herself hasn’t spoken up about the matter on her social media accounts and it’s not clear if she’s deemed Ramirez the official winner of the “Brokey” challenge. But throwing bands of cash and dancing with the rapper feels like a prize in itself.
