Ja Rule is giving Zohran Mamdani his stamp of approval for playing one of his hits for his victory speech.

For his victory speech on Tuesday night (Nov. 5), Mamdani walked out to Ja Rule’s 2004 hit “New York,” which features Fat Joe and Jadakiss. The move was seen as a playful nod to his bizarre rift with 50 Cent, who has been critical of Mamdani’s proposed plans to increase taxes on the rich.

Ja shared a clip of that moment to his Instagram Story on Wednesday with a mechanical arm emoji and a hundreds points emoji.

Mamdani was declared the winner of the New York City mayoral race. According to NBC News, the 34-year-old received more than 1 million votes, which secured him a win over former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa.
