Ice Spice turned some heads with her latest look for a screening of the new SpongeBob movie.
The 25-year-old rapper arrived at a New York City screening of the PG-rated film The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepants on Wednesday (Dec. 17) at the Paramount Pictures Screening Room.
For that night’s look, Ice sported a pink wig along with a sheer, white lace dress that revealed her thong and much of her backside.
Ice, who appears in the film and contributed the original song "Big Guy" for the soundtrack, posed for photos in front of the colorful SpongeBob backdrop.
Photos from the event were reshared by Paramount’s social media accounts, which reportedly prompted criticism from parents who felt the "Thootie" rapper’s look was inappropriate for a children’s film. It's not clear if children were present at the screening.
Ice Spice hasn’t addressed the criticism on her social media.
During a recent interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Ice said she went through many drafts to arrive at the final version of “Big Guy” that made the cut for the film.
“This was probably the hundredth draft, probably, that finally made it out—that you guys are hearing,” she said at the time. “The whole premise of the film is about Spongebob becoming, like, a ‘big guy’ and so I had to really incorporate that phrase throughout the song. It all turned out to really work out in the end and I'm just happy that it took this many drafts because it's my favorite one.”
The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepants hits theaters on December 19.
