Gloria Estefan's daughter's partner, Gemeny Hernandez, has been arrested for robbery and the alleged victim might be Emily Estefan.
According to an arrest affidavit reviewed by TMZ, Hernandez was taken into custody Tuesday (Oct. 28) on charges of felony strong-arm robbery and misdemeanor battery.
The arrest affidavit identifies her domestic partner of eight years as the alleged victim, though police have redacted the name. TMZ reports that, based on multiple outlets, Emily and Gemeny celebrated their eighth anniversary last year.
According to authorities, the alleged victim told police that Hernandez "struck the victim in the head with a phone during an argument." Officers say the two then struggled over the phone, which reportedly belonged to the alleged victim, "wrestling on the ground for it."
Police noted that the victim sustained "a bruise on her eye and scratches on her neck" before managing to recover the phone and call 911. Hernandez was arrested after officers arrived.
TMZ adds that Emily Estefan, the youngest child of Gloria and Emilio Estefan, is also a recording artist.
She and Hernandez began dating around 2016, went public with their relationship in 2017, and later cohosted the podcast In Our Own World, which hasn't released an episode since April.
