D4vd surged to the top of Google’s trending searches in 2025 as the investigation into the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas pushed his name into the spotlight.

Google’s newly released Year in Search 2025 data, shared with Complex, shows that the 20-year-old singer experienced a major surge in global and U.S. searches amid the murder investigation into Rivas, whose remains were found inside of a Tesla registered to D4vd in September.

The “Romantic Homicide” singer ranked first globally in the top trending people list, meaning he showed the strongest spike in interest of any individual worldwide.

In the U.S., D4vd appeared in two separate categories: He ranked third among top trending people and took the No. 1 position in the musicians list.

Rivas' body was discovered in a black bag inside the trunk of singer D4vd's Tesla at a Hollywood tow yard on Sept. 8, just weeks after the car had been abandoned. The remains weighed 71 pounds and had a "Shhh" tattoo on a finger.

A law enforcement source told the Los Angeles Times that Rivas may have been dead since spring. Other law enforcement sources said they believe more than one person may have been involved in the of disposing her body.

The car had been left along Bluebird Avenue since late July, around the time D4vd (born David Anthony Burke) headed out on tour in support of his Withered album.

Rivas had repeatedly run away from her Lake Elsinore home and had been reported missing three times in 2024.

During that time, she appeared online with D4vd and reportedly lived with him at a rental home. Detectives have searched his Hollywood Hills residence and removed electronic evidence.

"Accountability is coming," Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton said, per the Times. "Our RHD detectives have been working and not waiting for that decision [by the medical examiner]. They are going to get justice for Celeste Rivas. No one is off the table, including him [D4vd]."

Neither D4vd nor any other individual has been named as a suspect in the investigation by police.
