D4vd’s Former Landlord Hires Private Investigator Amid Celeste Rivas’ Death Probe

Six weeks after 15-year-old Rivas' body was found in the "Romantic Homicide" singer's Tesla, the case remains unsolved.

D4vd’s former landlord in the Hollywood Hills has hired a private investigator to find out what happened after Celeste Rivas’ body was discovered in the singer’s Tesla.

The property owner, Mladen Trifunovic, took the step after receiving no updates from the Los Angeles Police Department, who searched the home weeks ago, reportedly for blood evidence, as part of their investigation but have yet to release any findings publicly, according to TMZ.

The 20-year-old singer’s Tesla had been parked near the house and was later towed to a Hollywood impound lot. The lot is where police later found 15-year-old Rivas’ decomposing remains last month after tow yard staff reported a foul order. Police say Rivas had “very likely” been dead for “several weeks” at the time she was found.

"Our private investigator’s work is still ongoing, and I don’t have any findings to share at this time,” Trifunovic told TMZ. “It’s still early in the process, and I want to respect both the LAPD’s investigation and the memory of the victim."

Rivas had been reported missing by her family in early 2024 from her home in Lake Elsinore, California. Friends within D4vd’s circle reportedly believed she was 19.

Since the discovery, D4vd has canceled his tour, indefinitely delayed the release of his deluxe album Withered, and moved out of the rental property.

Last week, it was reported that the “Romantic Homicide” singer transferred the deeds of his two Texas homes to his mother on Sept. 18, the same day that police were called to the Houston residence after a swatting call in which someone falsely reported that there was a dead female in the home following a shooting.

The deed for the other home was transferred on Sept. 22.

In a statement shared with Complex last week, the LAPD said D4vd is not considered a suspect at the moment. The cause of Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s death remains unclear.

"The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet determined the cause or manner of Ms. Rivas Hernandez's death," the statement read. "As such, it remains unclear whether there is any criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body."
