The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that D4vd isn’t a suspect in Celeste Rivas Hernandez's death because her cause of death has yet to be determined.

Hernandez's body was found in a Tesla registered to D4vd, and investigators said it's "very likely" the body had been there for "several weeks" before it was discovered.

The department shared a statement with Complex detailing the investigation. Officials said there’s not enough evidence yet to name any suspects — and the death may not be a murder at all.

“The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet determined the cause or manner of Ms. Rivas Hernandez's death,” the statement said. “As such, it remains unclear whether there is any criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body."

As the investigation into Hernandez’s disappearance and how her remains ended up in a vehicle registered to D4vd continues, more details about her home life have begun to surface. TMZ reported that the police were called to her home over 10 times in one year.

Riverside County Sheriff deputies allegedly responded to 11 calls at her family’s home in Lake Elsinore, California, between February 2024 and April 2025. On March 19, 2024, the police received three calls coinciding with her appearance on surveillance video at a local liquor store.

Police records reveal that the majority of the calls overall were noted as “minor crime investigation,” while one was listed as "suspicious circumstances.”

Hernandez’ ex, Damien, said in an interview with TMZ that he dated her when she was in 7th grade and she confided in him that she had a difficult relationship with her parents.

“We were at P.E. and she told me [and] my friend that she was running away,” Damien recalled. “She was, like, joking about it … like, it didn’t seem real because she was, like, playing around … The next day she wasn’t at school and that’s the last time I saw her.”
