Bad Bunny and J Balvin have officially reunited.

On Sunday (Dec. 21), Benito brought out Balvin as a surprise guest to the delight of the sold out crowd at Mexico City’s GNP Seguros Stadium for his Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour. The Oasis collaborators performed their hits “La Canción,” “Que Pretendes,” and “Si Tu Novio Te Deja Sola.”

“I’m so proud of Benito Ocasio Martinez for what he’s doing, for what he represents,” said Balvin, 40, on stage. “Because he takes us Latinos around the world. Because he’s a dreamer, hardworker, whom we always knew would become one of the biggest in music history. For me its an honor to share with you, and I’d like to thank you because you’ve taught me a lot too.

Today, I want to tell you that I admire you, that I love you and your family … May God bless them and keep blessing them. The past is the past, but we’re men that have matured … and we forgive each other always.”

“Thank you for those words. You know the feeling is mutual, I love you a lot,” Benito, 31, said back. “I apologized a long time ago. People don’t know but we had a conversation a few weeks ago. But we were waiting for the perfect moment to share the stage, and it’s good that it was here in Mexico.

“For many years, Jose has been representing Latinos around the entire world and opening doors for the urbano genre. Not just in Colombia but also around the world, but also on the Latin American and global level.”

Fans suspected that the relationship between Bad Bunny and J Balvin may have been strained after Benito appeared to diss Balvin on the song “Thunder Y Lightning” from his 2023 album, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana.

On the track, the Puerto Rican superstar seemingly called out the Colombian reggaeton icon as he raps, “You guys have seen me with the same people while you all are friends with the whole world like Balvin.”

Not long after the song’s release, Balvin hopped on Instagram Live to explain his confusion over the apparent diss.

"I think he’s an excellent artist," Balvin said at the time. "The person I know is a great person. We supported each other mutually, we made history, we also created a new story within music. I don’t understand what was going through his head but well, the guy I know is a good person."

Earlier this year during an appearance on the El Vacilón de la Mañana radio show, Balvin was asked about what happened between them and if they were on speaking terms.

“I think that everyone reaches a point where you have to focus on yourself. Truthfully, I have nothing against Benito, one hundred percent,” he said on the show. “We don’t talk, but surely when we see each other the vibes will be good. But the truth is that there are no motives [to talk] either.”

In a recent interview with streamer Ibai, Balvin admitted that Benito’s current success would have had him “banging my head against the walls” several years ago.

“My struggle is no longer to be number one, my struggle is to have peace, to have tranquility, and to continue making moves that help me leave a legacy,” he said.
