ASAP Relli has officially dropped his assault lawsuit against ASAP Rocky over claims that the rapper shot him in 2021.

Through his lawyer, Aaron Morris, Relli told Billboard that he is "focusing on rebuilding his life."

"At this point, he's ready to simply move on from the shooting," Morris told the magazine. "The ordeal has been a nightmare for him, and the statements calling him a 'liar' and worse effectively eliminated his chances of a career in the industry."

The decision ends a civil case that was scheduled for trial in January, nearly a year after Rocky (born Rakim Mayers) was acquitted at a criminal trial in February. Relli, born Terrell Ephron, had sued for financial damages, but his lawyer said court papers dismissing the lawsuit will be filed later this week.

Relli will continue to pursue a separate defamation lawsuit against Rocky and his attorney, Joe Tacopina, over statements made to the press calling his shooting allegations "extortion" and a "get-rich-quick-scheme."

Morris told Billboard, "He's going to litigate the defamation action because of the damages it caused, but as to the shooting, he's thankful he wasn't hurt worse and is focusing on rebuilding his life."

The dispute stems from a November 2021 altercation near a Hollywood hotel, where Relli alleged that Rocky fired a handgun at him, while Rocky maintained it was a prop gun loaded with blanks.

Prosecutors charged Rocky with two felony assault counts in 2022, but a Los Angeles jury acquitted him after he rejected a plea deal that could have sent him to prison for up to 24 years.
