Anderson .Paak Reunites With South Korean Artist Dean for His Slinky “Aftertaste” Single and Video

The longtime collaborators reconnect more than a decade later with a sleek new R&B track and video.

Anderson .Paak is reuniting with South Korean alt-R&B star DEAN for the sultry new single "Aftertaste."

The song and its sleek black and white video arrived Friday (May 8), bringing the two artists back together more than a decade after their 2015 collaboration "Put My Hands On You."

Produced by Dem Jointz, “Aftertaste” blends hard hitting drums with smooth synth textures as Paak and DEAN trade flirtatious verses over a mix of club ready rhythms and late night R&B.

“Aftertaste” also continues Paak's recent wave of Korea-connected releases tied to his upcoming Netflix film K-POPS!, which begins streaming May 30, and his collaboration with aespa titled "Keychain."

The release adds to a busy run for .Paak, who recently earned a Grammy nomination for "No Cap" with Disclosure and is currently touring with Bruno Mars as DJ Pee.Wee on The Romantic Tour.

For DEAN, the collaboration marks another major release following his 2023 comeback single "DIE 4 YOU" and 2024's "3:33" with FKJ. The singer-songwriter first gained international attention with songs including "Pour Up" featuring ZICO and the breakout hit "Instagram."
