Rapper Bobby Shmurda, who is already serving a sentence of at least six years for conspiracy and weapons possession, has accepted a plea deal, extending his sentence.

Shmurda admitted in court that he attempted to smuggle a shank into jail, according to Bossip.

He plead guilty to attempted promoting prison contraband, a nonviolent felony. As a result, the sentence for the rapper of “Hot Nigga” fame will be extended by 1.3 to 4 years. Shmurda could have faced as many as seven additional years without the plea deal.

Shmurda, 22, told Bronx Supreme Court Judge Marc Whitten he was caught attempting to smuggle a “sharp metal object” into Rikers Island jail in 2015.

Shmurda received the “sharpened metal object” from his girlfriend Kimberly Rousseau while she visited the jail. Rousseau has plead guilty to the same charge as Shmurda: promoting prison contraband.

Shmurda has been imprisoned since 2014. Prosecutors have alleged the rapper was the leader of Brooklyn’s notorious GS9 street gang.
