Meanwhile, the government shutdown continues as millions of Americans await clarity on SNAP benefits.

President Donald Trump was booed during his appearance at an NFL game between the Washington Commanders and the Detroit Lions at Northwest Stadium in Maryland on Sunday (Nov. 9).

As seen in videos and photos from the game, which the Lions ultimately won, Trump was booed and flipped off by some attendees at the game in question. The president's appearance comes amid an ongoing government shutdown, as well as in the wake of reports of Trump wanting a new Commanders stadium to be named after him.

"That would be a beautiful name, as it was President Trump who made the rebuilding of the new stadium possible," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said last week in response to an ESPN report on plans for the multibillion-dollar stadium.

“It’s what the president wants, and it will probably happen,” Leavitt added at the time.

As the Associated Press points out, Trump’s appearance at the Commanders and Lions game on Sunday marks the first time a sitting POTUS has attended a regular-season game in nearly 50 years. The most recent example was the late Jimmy Carter, who attended an NFL game back in 1978.

A recent NBC News poll, seen here, showed that 52 percent of voters blamed Trump and/or Republicans at large for the federal shutdown. Caught in the middle of this stalemate are millions of Americans who rely on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits and are still awaiting clarity, all while AI-generated propaganda videos are circulating widely on social media.
