Scooter Braun recently considered becoming the new owner of OnlyFans, at least according to multiple reports.
As first reported by Matthew Belloni for Puck on Friday (Nov. 14), the former music manager—whose roster of past clients includes Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande— was said to have been “quietly negotiating” a would-be deal until two weeks ago. Citing sources, the Puck report further claims that 44-year-old Braun even had backers already in place for the deal, though discussions ultimately fell apart for unspecified reasons.
Meanwhile, a separate report from TMZ provides a bit more insight, with their sources offering a slightly downplayed take on the nature of the talks between Braun and current OnlyFans CEO Keily Blairas. Still, the publication says Braun did meet with OnlyFans reps, who at one point provided him with paperwork on the possible agreement. Braun, however, reportedly chose to pass on the deal after reviewing the documents.
Complex has reached out to OnlyFans reps for comment. This story may be updated.
The wording of a key line in the Puck piece is worth special attention, as it hints at what could have been a more involved presence from Braun instead of a mere ownership move. Braun’s role in the deal would have reportedly seen him becoming both “the face and brains” of the platform.
While some may view Braun’s alleged interest in the company as a surprise, they shouldn’t. OnlyFans, currently owned by Fenix International Limited, routinely makes headlines thanks to breakout stars on the platform, not to mention its consistent financial successes.
In October, Blair said that OnlyFans had paid out an estimated $25 billion to creators since its 2016 launch. A recently released annual report for 2024 revealed gross revenue on the platform of $7.22 billion, a nine percent increase when compared with the previous year’s earnings.
