Former Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has started serving a four-day jail sentence in Tennessee for a DUI conviction. According to TMZ, Cutler — ex-husband of reality star Kristin Cavallari — checked into Williamson County Jail in Franklin, Tennessee, on Monday, September 29. He’s expected to stay in custody until Friday.

The former NFL star was also ordered to pay a $350 fine and serve one year of supervised probation. He must also complete a DUI safety course, and his Tennessee driver’s license has been revoked for a year. The charges stem from an incident on October 17, 2024, when the 42-year-old was reportedly arrested after a car accident in Franklin.

According to the arrest affidavit, he appeared visibly intoxicated and allegedly offered the other driver $2,000 to avoid involving law enforcement and allow him to leave the scene. Officers later discovered a rifle and a loaded Glock pistol in the back of his pickup truck.

The internet's reaction was hardly sympathetic. On Reddit, one person commented sarcastically, "4 whole days?!" while another added, "That’s classic Jay. Always a LITTLE drunk." Someone else said, "I love this for Kristin."

Cavallari — who is known for starring in The Hills and Laguna Beach — had spoken about her ex’s situation on her podcast, Let’s Be Honest. “I do, of course, wish Jay nothing but the best, and I do hope that he gets the help that he needs, but that’s the only thing I will be saying about it publicly,” she said.

Cutler and Cavallari were married for nearly seven years. The two of them had three children together before ending their marriage in 2020, with their divorce being finalized in 2022.

The former couple shared a joint statement on Instagram at the time, saying, “We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of.” They added, “This is just the situation of two people growing apart.”
