Ex-LSU gymnast and influencer Livvy Dunne just showed her support for Taylor Swift’s clever quip about male NFL fans, shining a light on the fun side of sports fandom.
The 35-year-old "Bad Blood" singer recently appeared as a guest on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, which he cohosts with his brother, Jason Kelce. During the Wednesday, August 13, episode, Swift said, "As we all know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast. I think we all know that if there’s one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens — it’s more of me.”
Dunne, 22—who is dating Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes—instantly took to social media to relate to Swift. She reposted the video, writing, “She gets it,” and added a crying-laughing emoji on her Instagram Stories.
Faced with criticism from NFL fans who claimed she was distracting from the game, the pop star was ultimately defended by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who noted that she had helped bring a fresh audience of female fans to football. Similarly, TikToker Dunne has also faced negative attention from fans due to dating a professional athlete.
Supporters of both women have called out comments and jokes made from fans.
"I actually love how angry she makes grown men," an Instagram comment read about Swift. "The amount of heads these women live rent-free in..." one user added, also giving a nod to other athlete partners like Dunne.
Dunne recently shared a video on her TikTok that said: "POV: you're dating a professional athlete." The video featured social media posts of the influencer, along with screenshots showing fans replying with photos and GIFs of Skenes in the comments. "Ya'll are obsessed," she captioned the video, with a crying emoji.
