Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz Beckham's wedding planner is weighing in on the family's very public feud.
Preston Bailey, the celebrity wedding guru who helped pull off the lavish ceremony, says that he is "surprised" to hear of the rift between Brooklyn and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham.
Ahead of the 2022 exorbitant wedding, Bailey didn't notice any signs that there may have been tension brewing between Brooklyn and his family.
“It surprises me that he is taking this stand against his parents,” Bailey said. “That’s not the Brooklyn I met as far as him being this nice, gentle guy. . . He was just a nice, regular person who would say hello and chit-chat.”
Bailey described Brooklyn as someone who very much played an active role in the wedding planning process.
“I can tell you about my experience with Brooklyn,” he said. “While we were planning, clearly, as far as the details for the design, he was very much involved. I have always thought of him as a gentle, decent guy. There was never any tension.”
In a lengthy statement shared to his Instagram story last week, Brooklyn made several serious allegations against his parents. He accused them of continuing “to go to the press” over the years, “leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”
He alleged that his wife, Nicola, "has been consistently disrespected by my family".
Brooklyn also accused his mother of sabotaging the first dance that he was intended to share with his new bride.
"My mum was waiting to dance with me....She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone," he claimed, saying, "I've never felt more uncomfortable [or] humiliated in my entire life."
While some rumors have circulated alleging that Nicola was difficult to work with during the wedding planning process, Bailey denied such claims.
“I don’t remember her being bossy. I remember a lot of affection between them,” he said.
