While 2025 was a year of ups and downs for comedian and actress Amy Schumer, she’s staying positive while beginning the New Year.
Schumer revealed through social media on December 7, 2025, that she had split from her husband, Chris Fischer. The pair were married for seven years and have one child together, Gene Attell Fischer, who was born in May of 2019.
“Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years,” she wrote in the since-deleted post. “We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son.”
Schumer turned to Instagram on Sunday, January 4, to share a series of swimsuit photos of herself and to share her vision for 2026.
“My mom took these photos of me while I was packing for a trip. And the last photo I’m on the trip. This year is about self care and self love. No makeup. No filter,” she began the caption of the post.
“Let’s all appreciate our health, our families, our friends, and have the best year of our lives. Moving forward with no regrets. Just love,” she went on.
The first image featured Schumer showing off her toned physique in a red bikini while posing in her living room.
The comedian has been candid about her recent dramatic weightloss, revealing that she has lost over 50 pounds. She acknowledged that her journey to lose weight was about far more than appearances.
"Not to look hot, which does feel fun and temporary," she noted, but "to survive."
"I had a disease that makes your face extremely puffy that can kill you, but the internet caught it, and the disease has cleared," she revealed, explaining that her condition is known as Cushing Syndrome.
This condition, which can lead to weight gain and other symptoms such as high blood pressure, is the result of overly high cortisol levels in the body.
