GameStop is Mr. Steal Your Girl.

The gaming chain on Wednesday (Dec. 10) posted on X a commercial featuring influencer Rilie Huntley, who previously reached viral fame by starring in Best Buy ads on TikTok.

“We stole your girl @BestBuy,” GameStop wrote.

In the 28-second video, Huntley explains how customers can trade in their old game consoles, accessories, and games for cash or store credit.

According to the GameStop subreddit Superstonk, Huntley, who was previously employed at Best Buy, became known for her TikToks about the electronics giant and eventually starred in company commercials.

In July 2024, Huntley revealed that she had left her job at Best Buy. “This is my announcement that I quit by the way,” she wrote at the time. She now has over 717,000 followers on TikTok.

GameStop and Best Buy have a longstanding rivalry, primarily over video game pricing and sales. Best Buy has yet to respond to the game retailer's affront.

One customer recently took advantage of GameStop’s trade-in policy. Earlier this month, someone went to a store location in Grapevine, Texas, and set the record for the highest value trade-in at one of the company’s stores.

Per GameStop, a customer brought in a PSA 10 Holo Gengar Pokémon card for trade-in on Dec. 1. The company verified the card based on its market valuation of $33,883 and issued a payout of $30,494.70 to the customer.

The company issued a playful statement aimed at customers who have criticized its trade-in values.

“Furthermore, any trolls who publicly claim that GameStop trade-in values are bad are hereby factually and demonstrably incorrect," the statement said. "Any prior and ongoing objections to our trade values are now deemed without merit and factually invalid.”
