A driver has confessed to killing Marcus Fakana in a London car crash, after Fakana was recently freed from a Dubai jail.
The BBC reports that 20-year-old Marwaan Mohamed Huseen took responsibility for the death of 19-year-old Fakana during a police car chase in October 2025. Another person, who was also in the vehicle, was severely injured in the accident.
In the early morning of Oct. 3, 2025, Metropolitan Police Officers were pursuing Huseen’s BMW when he collided with a truck in Tottenham, London.
On Friday, Huseen pleaded guilty to causing Fakana’s death by dangerous driving. He also pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving to the other passenger who was in the vehicle.
Three months prior to the crash, in July, Fakana was released from a year-long stint in a Dubai prison after he was found guilty of having a sexual relationship with a minor. In 2024, when Fakana was 18 years old, he traveled to Dubai with his family, where he engaged in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl from London.
The girl’s mother contacted authorities after discovering pictures and messages on her daughter’s phone. In Dubai, anyone 18 and over can be prosecuted if they have sex with a minor. Fakana was eventually granted a royal pardon from Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Huseen’s next hearing is on Feb. 27.
