A Missouri delivery run turned into a criminal case after a Domino's driver was arrested for allegedly using his car to strike a customer during a dispute over a tip, according to police.
Authorities say 36-year-old Zachary Nicholus Walton is being held without bond following the April 29 incident in Fulton. Officers responding to what was initially reported as an “accident with injuries” were told the situation escalated after Walton “became upset” about not receiving a tip. Investigators allege that the argument quickly turned physical — with a vehicle involved.
According to a statement of probable cause reviewed by People, Walton allegedly initiated the confrontation, yelling profanities at the customer before getting into his car. Video footage from the scene reportedly captures him shouting, “What are you going to do, bitch? Come get me,” before driving toward the victim.
Police say Walton then accelerated forward, striking the man and causing him to jump onto the hood to avoid further injury.
The victim reported pain and visible injuries, while Walton allegedly fled the scene “at a high rate of speed,” according to investigators. Officers later located him at a Domino’s location, where he reportedly admitted to driving at the victim “to scare him” before leaving.
He now faces charges including armed criminal action, first-degree assault or attempted assault, and leaving the scene of an accident involving injury. Court records show he has a prior conviction for domestic assault and false imprisonment.
The incident adds to a growing list of bizarre, real-world pizza-related crimes that have surfaced in recent months. In North Carolina, a former employee of Little Caesars was arrested after allegedly breaking into a closed store and running his own unauthorized operation.
Police say 41-year-old Jonathon Hackett entered the restaurant after hours, made pizzas, sold them to customers, and kept the money.
Authorities reported that Hackett later returned for a second attempt, which led to a confrontation with employees and his eventual arrest. He now faces multiple felony charges, including breaking and entering and larceny.
