Donald Trump Seemingly Confuses 'Really Hard' Dementia Screening For IQ Test

He also said Democratic Reps. Jasmine Crockett and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wouldn't perform as well as he did if they took the same test.

President Donald Trump is boasting about taking what he believed was an IQ test, which was seemingly a screening test for signs of dementia.

During a conversation with reporters aboard Air Force One on Monday (Oct. 27), the president bragged about taking a “very hard” IQ test at Walter Reed medical center, The New Republic reported.

“[We] have a great group of people, which they don’t,” Trump said while fielding questions from reporters. “They have Jasmine Crocket, a low-IQ person. AOC is low IQ ... Have her pass, like, the exams that I decided to take when I was at Walter Reed. Those are really hard, they’re really aptitude tests, I guess, in a certain way. But they’re cognitive tests.”

Earlier this month, Trump visited Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, which sparked speculation that he had undergone the same cognitive test he’s spoken about in the past.

While he suggested this week that it was an IQ test of some sort, it appears as though he’s referring to the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a 10-minute test that helps doctors identify early signs of Alzheimer’s and dementia.

“Let AOC go against Trump,” said the president, 79. “Let Jasmine go against Trump. The first couple questions are easy: a tiger, an elephant, a giraffe, you know. When you get up to about five or six and then when you get up to 10 and 20 and 25, they couldn't come close to answering any of those questions.”

Earlier this year, Trump’s physician said he had undergone the Montreal Cognitive Assessment and achieved a “perfect” score. He did the same test in 2018 and allegedly scored 30 out of 30.

He previously spoke about the test in 2020 when he challenged former President Joe Biden to take it.

“It's like you'll go: Person, woman, man, camera, TV," he said in a Fox News appearance. "So they say, ‘Could you repeat that?' So I said, ‘Yeah. So it's person, woman, man, camera, TV.’ ‘OK, that's very good. If you get it in order, you get extra points.' They say nobody gets it in order, it’s actually not that easy. But for me it was easy. And that’s not an easy question.”

In response to his recent comments, Trump critic Jimmy Kimmel challenged Trump to take a televised IQ test against Crockett and AOC.

“Donald Trump versus Jasmine Crockett and AOC. Let’s make this happen. I’m serious … I’ll host it, I’ll produce it, I’ll pay for it,” the late-night show host joked, promising to call the event, “Grandpa Don’s Dementia Bowl.”
