Footage Captures Moment Two Atlanta Robbers Drop Through Store Ceiling, Making Off With Almost $150,000

The Atlanta Police Department is seeking information in connection with the robbery.

A wild moment caught on security camera shows two robbers dropping through the ceiling of an Atlanta store before making off with almost $150,000 in cash.

Per NBC News, the Atlanta Police Department is seeking information regarding the Sept. 3 robbery, and to help the investigation they have released the partial security camera footage of the daring theft. The two individuals featured in the clip are believed to have cut into the roof of the store through the use of power tools.

In the video, one of the unidentified men dropped down and startled the woman working at the strip mall-based store, manager Teyoka Glenn. She was told to get down as the second robber dropped in from above after the first. Glenn told officers that she initially thought the first man to fall was a worker who had an accident because construction work was going on at the time. A third person is believed to have been a lookout as the robbery took place.

At one point, a customer walked through the door, but the two men told Glenn to get them to leave. She was then forced to guide them to a safe in the back of the store. They took out a duffel bag and took an estimated $150,000 in cash before tying her up with duct tape in the bathroom. They made off through the back door, where they bumped into someone who happened to be walking by.

The Atlanta Police Department and the nonprofit Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta have distributed the video and several images to get information about the three involved in the heist.

On the same day, a separate business was burglarized in the early morning hours by a man who breached the wall of a nearby bathroom to access the business. He caused a water pipe to rupture by breaching the wall, which triggered an alarm. He made off with clothing and purses, police confirmed. As to whether the two incidents are related, a police spokesperson said, "Because both of those investigations remain active and ongoing, we have no further information that is available."
