It’s the calm before the soccer storm in North America, as 30 days from now the 2026 World Cup will begin. With 48 teams competing, the field is bigger than ever in this World Cup. Previously, the field was set at 32 teams.

With so many more countries in the mix, there are bound to be more upsets. So the 2026 World Cup has the potential to be the wildest futbol tournament in history.

Below, we will look at World Cup odds as they stand, 30 days out.

Favorites
Spain (+430)
The favorite to win it all received quite the scare a few weeks back as Lamine Yamal, who has all the tools and charisma necessary to soon become the global face of soccer, went down with a hamstring injury.

La Roja maintains that Yamal will be ready to go for its first World Cup match on June 15 when it faces Cape Verde at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, but they’ll be cutting it close in terms of typical recovery time from this sort of injury. The betting world has not been scared off by Yamal’s injury, though, as Spain’s World Cup odds at Fanatics Sportsbook barely budged when the news broke.

France (+470)
France has an elite attack, led by Kylian Mbappe. Les Bleus do have a difficult group stage as it will face Norway, Senegal, and Iraq. Norway is +2200 to win the World Cup, and Senegal is +8000.

England (+650)
Thomas Tuchel was named manager for the Three Lions in the fall of 2024 and so far the returns have been brilliant. Under Tuchel’s watch in World Cup qualifying, England went 8-0, scored 22 goals, and allowed none.

Brazil (+750)
If fully healthy, Brazil would likely be in the same class as Spain, France and England on the odds board. Unfortunately for the Selecao, Rodrygo (ACL), Eder Militao (hamstring), and Estevao (thigh) will miss the World Cup. Vinicius Jr. and Raphinha will have to carry the load.

Argentina (+850)
As Lionel Messi goes, so do Argentina’s odds to win the World Cup. Messi was one of 55 players included in Argentina’s preliminary roster for the 2026 World Cup, but he has yet to confirm his participation. Messi has showed no signs of slowing down on the MLS pitch for Inter Miami. Just this past week, he became the fastest player in MLS history to reach 100 goal contributions.

Notable longshots
USA (+5500)
This edition of the USMNT is quite deep, so it is up to Mauricio Pochettino to press the right buttons at the right time and in the right matchups. The Americans will be led by Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie. Unfortunately for the USMNT, they will be playing this summer without the services of midfielder Johnny Cardoso, who will soon undergo ankle surgery. In group stage play, USMNT will play two games at SoFi Stadium in LA, and one game at Lumen Field in Seattle.

Mexico (+6500)
The last two times El Tri hosted World Cup matches, it reached the quarterfinals of the tournament. Mexico will play two group stage games at the famed Estadio Azteca and one at Estadio Akron in Zapopan. Both should have raucous atmospheres. Mexico will be led by striker Raul Jimenez.

Canada (+15000)
Canada will also host games and its national team will play two group stage games in Vancouver, and one in Toronto. Canada is led by Juventus forward Jonathan David.
