Tyreek Hill Free Agency Rumors: The Latest

The Chiefs remain the most likely landing spot for “The Cheetah,” but there are several WR-needy teams that could kick the tires for his services.

Tyreek Hill is the biggest name remaining in NFL free agency, but it is looking unlikely that the former All-Pro WR will be signing with a new team anytime soon.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter went on “The Pat McAfee Show” this week and said it was likely that veteran free agent receivers like Hill, DeAndre Hopkins and Deebo Samuel would play the waiting game to find a good landing spot.

“Some of these players will be able to hand-pick their opportunities right before training camp. Or maybe they wait a week or two into camp to see if there’s an injury,” Schefter said. “A lot of these guys haven’t gotten the prices they want [yet]. Tyreek Hill has an injury situation where he might not be ready until midway through the season. That may be a down the line thing.”

Hill is recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered on Sept. 29 of last year. It typically takes around 9-12 months to recover from a torn ACL.

Below, we will take a look at which teams will likely have the most interest in signing Hill in the upcoming weeks.

Tyreek Hill to Chiefs rumors
This has long been the obvious choice. Hill had tremendous chemistry with Patrick Mahomes, and the duo won a Super Bowl together. In addition, the Chiefs re-hired Eric Bieniemy as offensive coordinator this off-season. Hill has long been a supporter of Bieniemy and vice versa.

Kansas City also has a need at receiver, particularly with Rashee Rice once again in legal trouble.

FOX Sports’ Ben Arthur wrote on May 19 about how Hill to the Chiefs still remains the most logical conclusion.

“Hill’s status for 2026 remains unclear after dislocating his left knee and tearing multiple ligaments, including his ACL, last September,” Arthur wrote. “But after an unceremonious end to his Miami Dolphins’ tenure, a return to the Chiefs makes sense, health-enabling. He would provide much-needed veteran depth for a wide receiver room that’s seen uneven play since his departure from Kansas City in 2022.”

Tyreek Hill to Commanders rumors
The Commanders are definitely going to be picking up scraps in the wide receiver market this summer. Samuel led the team in receiving yards last season but it looks as though he will be signing elsewhere.

This could ultimately come down to a game of veteran wide receiver musical chairs, with Stefon Diggs, AJ Brown, Brandon Aiyuk, Hill, Samuel, and Hopkins all likely to re-locate in free agency or via trade.

If Washington finds itself empty-handed and with Hill still on the board, a marriage is possible.

Tyreek Hill to Titans rumors
New Titans head coach Robert Saleh knows full well the type of talent Hill is, as he saw plenty of “The Cheetah” while he was coaching in the AFC East with the Jets and while Hill was a member of the Dolphins. Also of note: while Saleh was with the Jets in 2022, New York “aggressively pursued” trading for Hill before the WR was ultimately dealt to Miami.

The Titans are trying to give Cam Ward as many weapons as possible early in his career, as they drafted Carnell Tate No. 4 overall in this year’s Draft. Hill would complement Tate well in new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll’s scheme.

Tyreek Hill to Eagles rumors
Eagles GM Howie Roseman once said, “you can’t be great if you don’t take risks.”

While boss of the Philadelphia Eagles, Roseman has taken plenty of risks. Most have paid off, even when acquiring players with “red flags.”

The best example was when Roseman picked Jalen Carter ninth overall in the 2023 Draft.

Signing Hill, a player who has had many off-field issues over the years and now has injury concerns, would certainly qualify as a risk.

Schefter has maintained that the Eagles will trade AJ Brown to the Patriots after June 1, so a veteran wide receiver spot is likely to open up soon in Philly.

Tyreek Hill to Bills rumors
Hill to the Bills was an early rumor soon after the Dolphins released him in February. Since then, the Bills have done a lot of work in bringing in fresh faces for the WR room. They traded for DJ Moore and drafted Skyler Bell. Buffalo currently has a whopping 13 receivers on its roster.

Hill to the Bills is the least likely outcome out of the teams listed above.
