Opium

Opium (also known as 00pium) is an Atlanta-based record label founded in 2019 by rapper Playboi Carti. The label currently houses four acts: Carti himself, rappers Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and rap duo Homixide Gang. ASAP Nast is listed as being signed in 2025. Since its founding, Opium has become one of the most influential imprints in the current generation of hip-hop, with its artists collectively shaping a sound built around distorted 808s, hyperpop-adjacent production, and an aesthetic that draws heavily from goth and punk visual culture. What distinguishes 00pium from other rapper-founded labels is the degree to which its artists share a coherent sonic and visual identity rather than simply operating as independent acts under a shared banner. Ken Carson's *A Great Chaos* and Destroy Lonely's *If Looks Could Kill* both charted and received critical attention, demonstrating that the label's influence extends beyond Carti's own fanbase. The Opium aesthetic, characterized by black clothing, cross motifs, and a confrontational, anti-commercial posture has spread widely across streetwear and underground rap communities.
