What would you want as a gift from others or yourself this holiday, if money weren’t an object? That’s what we at Complex asked ourselves. Turns out, the 12 of us—a select staff across several departments—collectively want $165,450 worth of product. Not bad, considering even with an unlimited budget, we only want an average of $13-14k per person. From a $600 makeup brush set to a $60k leather dog house, see below for our personal dream picks. Santa, we’ve been really good this year.
Stone Island Metal Mesh Nanotech Padded Jacket
Price: $3,068
Where to Buy: Stone Island
According to Stone Island, this absurd jacket consists of “two organza layers with Cordura as a base material featuring a nanometric aluminum layer deposited through the Physical Vapor Deposition technique.” I don’t know what any of that shit means, which means that I absolutely need this jacket. The degree of superfluousness of a given piece of outerwear has a direct correlation with how good it is, so this jacket is almost perfect. I don’t know exactly how the “Physical Vapor Deposition technique” would better my everyday life, and I probably never will, given the price of this garment, but I know for sure that my cold innards would feel a little warmer nestled in this Silver Surfer shell. –Brendan Dunne, Head of Sneakers
Rolex Datejust 36 Olive Green Roman Diamond Dial Jubilee
Price: $19,250
Where to Buy: Tiger River
Let’s face it, there’s nothing that says ‘You’ve made it’ like a Rolex on your wrist. Whether you’ve got old money or new money, owning a Rolex watch feels like the ultimate symbol of success. In junior high, I thought I was the flyest girl ever with my Michael Kors timepiece, but now that I’ve matured, there’s nothing I would love more than an olive green Rolex Datejust 36 Diamond Dial Jubilee. Green is my favorite color, and you’ll always catch me wearing something gold, which is why this Olive Rollie would be the perfect gift to myself. It’s a blend of classy and sporty while remaining sophisticated. The diamond dial would look incredible on anyone’s wrist. The thing about a timepiece of this caliber is that it truly speaks for itself—No matter how I look, if I’ve got this on my wrist, what can you really tell me? The asking price for this cost more than my first car, coming in at $19,250. But if money were no object, I’m wrapping this Datejust under the tree. –Breeana Walker, Style Social Strategist
Vintage Landscape Sofa by Hans Hopfer
Price: $38,489.55
Where to Buy: 1stdibs
I am getting to the point in my life where moving out is becoming a reality, and I’ve been thinking a lot about what my own personal space would look like. I don't want to go with the usual Togo sofa or some hypebeast-y vibe, so I've been looking at vintage pieces from the '70s and '80s. I think the Landscape sofa fits right in, where it's unique enough to stand out with its funky shape and luxe suede, but subtle enough with a muted color, which fits my personal style. Not to mention, I'm a sucker for anything that's modular. –Jamal Desroches, Style Social Creator
Lewis Hamilton x Dior Loose Tweed Pants
Price: $2,600
Where to Buy: Dior
When Dior teamed up with Lewis Hamilton, I knew I was going to have to pick something up. We all know pants are the real MVP of any outfit. These loose-fit burgundy check joints? Sharp enough to turn heads, chill enough to not feel like you’re trying too hard. They’re not cheap, but it’s the holidays—treat yourself (or let someone else do the honors). –Sam Hart, VP of Client Partnerships
Louis Vuitton “Dog LVers” Monogram Kennel Trunk
Price: $60,000
Where to Buy: Louis Vuitton
If I have an unlimited budget, I might as well spoil my dog. I mean, look at him. I’ll admit, there’s no justifiable reason to own a monogram dog kennel with gold-toned hardware that costs more than a down payment on an actual home. He’ll definitely put a scratch mark on the side of it within 24 hours. But imagine the photoshoot we could have with this thing? Maybe Pharrell will even recruit my dog for the runway. You never know. –Mike DeStefano, Senior Style Writer
Snow Peak Camping Essentials Set
Price: $1,999.95
Where to Buy: Snow Peak
I like to get outside, and my dream is to completely overhaul my camping gear with everything from the Japanese brand Snow Peak. I love the minimal but classy and super functional nature of the brand’s products. I could go crazy with its entire catalogue (which also includes homeware and an apparel line) but this $2,000 camping essentials set is a great aspirational starting point to get into the Snow Peak lifestyle. –Noel Howard, VP of Video Development
Bottega Veneta Medium Bunny Pouf
Price: $10,000
Where to Buy: Bottega Veneta
When I first saw pictures of Jacob Elordi and ASAP Rocky sitting on Bottega Veneta’s animal pouf chairs—Elordi on a bunny and Rocky on a chicken—something clicked inside me. This was something that I never knew I needed. I quickly brushed away the thought, assuming these bean bags were made just for Bottega’s summer fashion show. To my surprise, the poufs were available for pre-order a couple weeks later on the brand’s website, and this has not left my head since. I am a big fan of Italian furniture design—the Pouf takes design cues from the Sacco chair by Zanotta, made from Italian nappa leather. It even has an Intrecciato handle on the back. Imagine it’s a bright Sunday morning, you just made a cup of coffee. You plop down onto your BV Bunny Pouf by the window and spend the day lounging, reading a book, and people-watching. That’s pretty close to a perfect day if you ask me. –Shinnie Park, Style Writer
Dior Oblique Poker Set
Price: $4,900
Where to Buy: Dior
My friends and I have a very formal weekly poker game, and bringing this set to the next one would really take it to the next level. A poker set with the classic CD monogram—how could we go wrong? –Quinn Kotecki, Senior Account Manager
Westman Atelier Holiday Petite Brush Collection Set
Price: $575
Where to Buy: Sephora
Compared to the other items on this list, a price tag of $575 seems very modest and humble. But to me, this luxury makeup brush set from Westman Atelier is dreamy enough. Not only are these limited-edition brushes handmade by master craftsmen in Japan, they come in cutesy, mini sizes and a special holiday pink colorway. To get ready with these every morning, I think I’d actually enjoy getting up for work. I’ve never wanted to spoil myself more. –YJ Lee, Head of Style
Nadine Ghosn Rose Gold Pencil Bracelet
Price: $22,680
Where to Buy: Nadine Ghosn
What says “I’ve got f*ck you money” more than a diamond-encrusted (and unusable) pencil? It’s nostalgic, tacky, absolutely outrageous, and I love it. I've been a fan of Nadine Ghosn for years, because the brand is so good at making ironic, kitschy modern jewelry. I'd add this to my stack in a heartbeat when I have $22,000 to dispose of at my whims. –Alessandra Maldonado, Associate Director of Content Operations
le Fleur* x Globe-Trotter Check-In & Carry-On Luggages
Price: $2,295-$3,095
Where to Buy: le Fleur*
As a longtime fan of Tyler's music and clothing, I'd add the le Fleur* x Globe-Trotter luggages—in both carry-on and check-in sizes—to my collection. I’m not a big traveller, but having this around would definitely inspire me to see more of the world. –Ezra Sokobin, Strategic Project Manager
