May 4 was a significant day for the New York Knicks—not just because they defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 137–98 in the NBA conference semifinals, but also because Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns Jr. debuted an extremely limited Stone Island x New Era fitted hat that will soon be seen on other select heads.
Here’s everything to know about the Stone Island x New Era fitted hat.
Why is this hat special?
The hat, debuting in Fall/Winter 2026, features a specialized warped-rib weave that creates subtle texture and a satin-like finish through garment dyeing. Made with 74% recycled content and treated with an anti-drop agent, the fabric is dyed in Italy in a custom Knicks Blue before being constructed by New Era. The piece is finished with custom seam taping, collaborative labeling, and a Star logo-stamped button crown.
What makes this hat different?
This New York Knicks collab cap is made out of a new Stone Island fabric called Warp Rib Nylon. That means it’s woven with a specialized warped rib structure that creates a subtle micro-ribbing.
How many exist?
There are just ten in the world. That’s not a typo. Just 10.
Can I buy one?
No. Don’t we all wish, though?
Will this restock?
Never.
Who has one of the hats?
So far, Towns is the only person pictured with the hat on. It’s supposed to appear at the Knicks’ next game against the 76ers on May 6, so it wouldn’t be hard to imagine that celebrities like Spike Lee or former basketball players like Carmelo Anthony get their hands on one.
