As if news of a fresh budget-conscious Off-White capsule collection wasn't enough, we now have whispers of a new chapter in Virgil Abloh and Nike's creative partnership. According to an alleged "leak alert" from @py_rates spotted by Hypebeast Sunday, Off-White and Nike are set for a World Cup-themed collab.
The alleged collab will reportedly include a soccer ball and various pieces of apparel, though nothing has been confirmed. To add even more fuel to the speculation fire, I'll just point out that the official Off-White account liked @py_rates' tweet. Could Cristiano Ronaldo also be involved?
Abloh also took time to respond to a troll asking about his knowledge on the world's game, and had the perfect response.
Of course, a soccer collab of this level isn't unprecedented. Both Kith and Gosha have previously partnered with Adidas for soccer-related pieces. At any rate, we'll find out whether this latest rumored Off-White x Nike collab is the real deal by the time the 2018 FIFA World Cup hits Russia in June.
On Monday, Abloh announced Off-White's new NOT ONCE AND FOR ALL capsule collection. The collection features hoodies priced at $170 each and tees for $95, all of which are now available at Off-White shops worldwide. Abloh also revealed plans to periodically release more affordability-centered collections in the future.
