Sunday night gave us one of the most memorable Oscars ceremonies in years, complete with an appearance by Rihanna.
Fans don’t need reminding that Rihanna was on hand to perform her Best Original Song-nominated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever track “Lift Me Up.” While the song ultimately lost in that category to RRR’s “Naatu Naatu,” the performance itself has been pointed to as one of the music-focused highlights of Hollywood’s biggest night.
Of course, it wouldn’t be the Oscars without some additional commentary on the fashion side, including a detailed look at what Rihanna on the red carpet and elsewhere.
Rihanna’s red carpet look, pictured above, saw the singer wearing a custom leather band dress by Alaïa over a jersey bodysuit.
When taking the stage for her “Lift Me Up” performance, as seen below, Rihanna wore a Maison Margiela artisanal look created by John Galliano. The look included a black silk tulle embroidered top, silver and blue silk brocade trousers, black leather gloves, and brocade tabi pumps.
For another look, Rihanna turned to Bottega Veneta for a custom ensemble made up of a green silk bustier and skirt with a shearling stole set and leather gloves.
On the jewelry front, the honors went to De Beers, with Rihanna having been confirmed to have worn a long list of pieces from the diamond company at the 2023 Oscars. Among them were the Idalia diamond necklace set in platinum, the Aden diamond earrings in platinum, the Alchemist of Light Frozen Capture bracelet set in 18K white gold, and more.
