NFT Collection From 18-Year-Old Artist FEWOCiOUS Bags More Than $2 Million at Auction

The 'Hello, I'm Victor (FEWOCiOUS) and This Is My Life' series tells the story of the artist's gender transition between the ages of 14 and 18.

Christie’s New York announced this week that an online auction of NFT artworks from 18-year-old artist FEWOCiOUS, presented as part of the auction house’s Pride program, bagged $2.16 million after a bidding war among more than 20 prospective collectors.

The series—titled Hello, I’m Victor (FEWOCiOUS) and This Is My Life—is a powerful coming-of-age story told through five unique NFTs, with each lot complemented by a physical painting and previously unreleased “doodles and diary entries.” Through the work, FEWOCiOUS—real name Victor Langlois—tells his story of gender transition spanning the ages of 14 to 18.

“I couldn’t be more elated for Victor,” Noah Davis, Digital Art Specialist at Christie’s, said in a press release on Wednesday. “He went all out on this project and bared his beautiful soul for the world. I hope his success shines bright for other young creative people who might be struggling with similar issues of identity and acceptance.”

FEWOCiOUS, notably, is the youngest artist to ever have a sale at Christie’s. He’s also, as pointed out in a must-read Esquireinterview conducted by Abigail Covington, the youngest artist to ever crash the Christie’s site.

Upon news of the auction’s success hitting social media, FEWOCiOUS shared a brief but impassioned message to all those who have supported his work over the past several months.

“I’ll never forge this feeling or these last few weeks,” he said.

With his latest successes, FEWOCiOUS—now based in Seattle, Washington—has displayed and promoted the unique healing power of intimately candid art. For more on FEWOCiOUS’ journey, as well as a catalog of his work, hit his site.
