Ice Spice Confirmed to Be Making Her Met Gala Debut, Reportedly as Special Guest of Anna Wintour

Ice Spice is set to make her Met Gala debut on Monday evening, reportedly following a personal invitation from Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

As first reported by TMZ, Spice is said to be making her debut at the event in custom Balmain and has been invited to the annual fundraiser as a guest of Vogue. At the time of this writing, no formal announcement regarding the appearance had been made.

When reached for comment by Complex, a representative for Ice Spice confirmed she will be attending the Met Gala this year.

Complex has also reached out to Balmain, Vogue, and the Met for additional comment. This story may be updated. At any rate, keeping an eye on the surefire slew of updates from tonight’s proceedings is highly recommended.

Prior to the TMZ report, Spice teased a Vogue and eBay announcement on social media.

“I’m partnering with Vogue and eBay for a special announcement on the first Monday in May,” she said in a recently shared clip. “Join me for fashion’s biggest night out. You do not want to miss this.”

By Monday, that collaboration had been revealed in the form of a special Vogue-produced shoppable collection of various designer pieces, as seen here.

Spice’s inaugural Met Gala experience follows last month’s starring turn in a new SKIMS campaign alongside PinkPantheress, Nessa Barrett, and RAYE.

“Ice Spice, Nessa Barrett, Pinkpantheress, and RAYE are super talented women and truly reflect our SKIMS community,” SKIMS creative director Kim Kardashian said when rolling out the Vanessa Beecroft-captured campaign images.
