Watch the Gucci Men’s Fall/Winter 2023 Show

In November 2022, Alessandro Michele announced his exit from the luxury Italian house. Per Michele, he and the label had been on an "extraordinary journey."

The Gucci Men’s Fall/Winter 2023 show was unveiled on Friday, marking the kickoff of Milan Men’s Fashion Week festivities.

Of course, the presentation is notable for a few reasons, including the fact that it arrives following the November 2022 exit of creative director Alessandro Michele. In a statement shared at the time, Michele reflected on the “extraordinary journey” he had been on with the luxury Italian house over the past 20 years.

“During this long period Gucci has been my home, my adopted family,” Michele said. “To this extended family, to all the individuals, who have looked after and supported it, I send my most sincere thanks, my biggest and most heartfelt embrace. Together with them I have wished, dreamed, imagined. Without them, none of what I have built would have been possible.”

It wasn’t immediately made clear what Gucci had in mind in terms of replacing Michele, who formally began creative director duties at the house back in 2015.

This month, the brand shared images from its latest Jackie 1961 campaign featuring Cha Cha Real Smooth and Persuasion star Dakota Johnson.

Off the strength of a year that included a much-discussed Adidas collab and metaverse expansions efforts, Gucci was recently selected by Complex as one of the best brands of 2022. See the full list—which also includes Louis Vuitton, Rick Owens, and more—at this link.
