15. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Release Date: 1986
Cameron Frye was a total tool who would let Ferris Bueller peer pressure him into doing anything. While it was obvious that Ferris Bueller was the much cooler friend. Cameron wins for rocking a Detroit Red Wings Gordie Howe jersey. According to a Sports Illustrated interview, Mr. Hockey himself apparently sent the jersey in for the movie to use.
14. The Sandlot
Release Date: 1993
"Benny the Jet" Rodriguez might have been the all-star on the field, but Yeah Yeah wins when it comes to his baseball jersey. His character wore the most minimal team-less unbranded uniform that was just white with green piping. These jerseys are coming back in style and if you look around at future fashion collections, there are a few brands that will have similar style jerseys in their collections for spring 2014.
13. Semi-Pro
Release Date: 2008
One thing the ABA had over the NBA is that their team logos were definitely creative. Jackie Moon and the Flint Michican Tropics did not disappoint in that department. The fictional team not only debuted the first alley-oop in history, they also rocked jerseys that featured orange palm tree embroidery. That would never be allowed in today's NBA league.
12. Little Giants
Release Date: 1994
The toughest player on the gridiron was Icebox who happened to be a girl. While the whole movie is about a small town rivalry between two peewee football teams, Icebox mixed up her tomboy style by wearing jerseys from different sports. The one highlight was her button-up baseball jersey. We have a feeling this style will be coming to a store near you interpreted by brands like BBC and Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen.
11. Like Mike
Release Date: 2002
Before Bow Wow chopped off the "Lil" from his name, he was a successful child rapper who also had a couple acting credits under his belt. The Los Angeles Knights—a fictional NBA team in his basketball movie—had jerseys that looked more like something college teams would wear, but they were pretty cool nonetheless.
10. Slap Shot
Release Date: 1977
Paul Newman was a man with effortless style who could practically pull off anything. Even in a hockey jersey, he looked like a natural. However, in his film Slap Shot, the most memorable characters were the Hanson brothers. They acted as enforcers for the Charlestown Chiefs, and beat the shit out of anyone who skated past them in awesome hockey jerseys.
9. The Natural
Release Date: 1984
Another iconic jersey from a classic movie, The Natural features a fictional team named the New York Knights. If you're looking for a jersey that's as close to the real thing, Ebbet's Field Flannels has actually made authentic reproductions. Both are available in home and away colors complete with a wool cap.
8. Teen Wolf
Release Date: 1985
If we had someone who could turn into a werewolf on our basketball team, we would win all games and go to championships. That's exactly what Michael J. Fox's character did as he led the Beavers to the finals. We wouldn't mind adding this jersey in our collection—the real one, not the one you find in costume stores.
7. Do The Right Thing
Release Date: 1989
Spike Lee's character Mookie repped Brooklyn all the way down to his Jackie Robinson jersey. While a lot of the focus is on Buggin' Out getting his Jordan 4s scuffed, Mookie had a gem of his own with his throwback Brooklyn Dodgers uniform.
6. Wayne's World
Release Date: 1992
Garth and Wayne ruled the early '90s. The two rock music fanboys embodied the style of the decade from ripped jeans to flannel button-downs. But the duo's love for hockey had them wearing Chicago Blackhawks jerseys in one memorable scene where they had to keep yelling "Game On" every time a car passed by. You all should know how that feels if you've played some sports on your street.
5. Any Given Sunday
Release Date: 1999
If you're looking for inspiration to use for your next murdered-out jersey collection, look no further than Any Given Sunday. The Miami Sharks team with the all-black uniform was more like something from Pittsburgh than that of the sunny state of Florida. The team had the attitude to match and a QB named Willie Beamen, which is the most awesome fictional name ever and deserved a mention in Drake's hashtag raps as well as Jay Z's lines.
4. Bad News Bears
Release Date: 1976
Let's go back, way back to 1976. We will go ahead and say this is the most badass jersey on this list. Come on, who doesn't want a baseball jersey sponsored by Chico's Bail Bonds? This ragtag team of misbehaving misfits had the attitude like they spent years in the pen which made it a perfect combination.
3. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Release Date: 1989
The National Lampoon franchise is one that never fails to disappoint. Let's face it; the Griswold's really wanted to make you take a vacation, without all the problems they got into, of course. But the holiday classic Christmas Vacation made us really want Clark Griswold's custom Chicago Blackhawks double-zero jersey. If you love the franchise and hockey, this jersey is good to have for the collection.
2. Space Jam
Release Date: 1996
If you love everything Michael Jordan, you have to have all his jerseys from all his teams. This includes owning the infamous Toon Squad jersey from the movie Space Jam. But if you like repping for the enemy, the Monstars jersey will also suffice. This was also the first time Jordan debuted the infamous Space Jam XI's. You really can't go wrong with the memorabilia from this movie.
1. The Mighty Ducks
Release Date: 1992
Nobody can forget the infamous Flying V formation, but the Mighty Ducks also had the best jerseys on ice. The traditional skull and crossbones were replaced by a menacing duck face (not the selfie kind) in a hockey mask with two crossed hockey sticks. Another awesome jersey in the movie was the Trinidad and Tobago team's trippy tie-dye uniform.
