Duke + Dexter’s collaborative arm shows no signs of slowing down this season. After teaming up with Soho Yacht Club for a monochrome loafer and apparel collection, the London-based label has unveiled a new collaboration with about:blank, featuring two decorated loafer styles.
As part of the drop, the footwear label has opted for a refreshing take on collaborative culture by utilising about:blank’s timeless aesthetic for the win. Comprising one rattan-inspired design and a second paisley decorated silhouette, the exclusive collection aims to unite the duo’s communities to create the ultimate modern-day uniform.
The Wilde Loafer has been made from a crocheted blend of silk and wool, along with a traditional vamp (akin to about:blank’s popular knitted shirts). Meanwhile, the second pair features a custom paisley print on the vamp, which has been directly pulled from about:blank’s Spring/Summer 2023 accessory offering.
Speaking on the collaboration, Archie Hewlett, founder of Duke + Dexter, said: “For me, these are two of the fastest growing and most exciting up-and-coming brands in the UK. Both brands have managed to build very strong, genuine communities in a short space of time by remaining true to their own identities. Consistency is king. That is a huge appeal for me and a big reason as to why we chose to partner with both. I’ve also been close with Jack and Ellis for a number of years now, so it has been a very organic and natural approach.”
about:blank’s Jack Henderson added: “The brand has wanted to partner with Duke + Dexter for some time now, especially given my close relation with Archie. Now felt like the perfect time to bring the idea to life complementing our SS23 collection so well. I’ve personally been wearing Duke + Dexter for years; we have also been featuring them in our lookbooks for a fair few years now because they tie in so well with our aesthetic. The ultimate hope is to make this a yearly partnership. We would love to develop some of their other styles, too. I love the boat shoes!”
