In 1996, designer Beth Gali devised a new lighting system for the streets of Barcelona with Spanish brand Santa & Cole. Qatar recently installed 920 lights along Al Waab Street in Doha that are just a touch too similar. Santa & Cole is taking action, mounting a lawsuit against Qatar for counterfeiting the "Latina" streetlamp. And you thought luxury fakes were limited to handbags and watches. [Dezeen]
