It’s mid February. For a lot of people, that probably reminds them of roses and heart-shaped chocolates. In 2023, it connotes abnormally warm weather. But for basketball fans, it means it’s time for NBA All-Star Weekend. And while seeing all of the best players in the world playing on one court is amazing, it isn’t the only thing to look forward to when it comes to the three-day event these days.

This year’s stop in Salt Lake City will be no different. There’s plenty of activations, collaborations, and exclusive product drops from some of our favorite brands. Canada Goose has tapped one of the biggest names in streetwear, Union Los Angeles, for a capsule of outerwear. Just Don has cooked up a new collection with Mitchell and Ness harkening back to the 1993 NBA All-Star Game, the last time the events took place in Salt Lake City. Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack is even dropping some exclusive new merch and hosting a two-day concert that will surely be one of the highlights leading up to the big game on Sunday night. And there’s plenty more.

Take a look at all of the great drops you can look forward to this weekend in Salt Lake City below.

Union Los Angeles x Canada Goose x NBA

Price: $450-$1,150

For the third straight year, Canada Goose has partnered with the NBA and a prolific streetwear designer for a special capsule to celebrate All-Star Weekend. This year, Union Los Angeles has been tapped as the third collaborator. The unisex collection features the long Toussaint Coat, insulated liners, reversible letterman/bomber hybrid jackets, and tartan plaid vests. The vest is also available in children’s sizing. Minimal branding can be seen on each item in the form of logo badges to represent Union and Canada Goose, respectively.

Utah Jazz CounterPoint

Price: starting at $50

CounterPoint, the lifestyle apparel brand of the Utah Jazz, is making sure to have its own presence in its home city. The brand will launch its “Quickstrike” collection featuring All-Star-inspired graphic T-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, jackets, and more. There will also be a special collaborative T-shirt released alongside Yuta Hosokawa and Cali Thornhill Dewitt’s popular label, Saint Michael. Calyann Barnett, Dywane Wade’s former stylist, is CounterPoint’s creative director. CounterPoint will be one of the many activations taking place at The Shop SLC (16 N. Rio Grande).

Cactus Jack

Price: TBD

Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack will also be featured at The Shop SLC. A collection of limited edition, customizable merch will be up for grabs to commemorate the annual event. While the specific details of the drop are being kept under wraps, this will obviously be one of the most coveted drops of the weekend. Along with apparel, Cactus Jack will also be throwing a two-day concert at The Depot (13 North 400 West) on Feb. 17-18 featuring Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, Chase B, and more.

Mitchell and Ness x SLAM x Thrifthood ‘Back in the Day’

Price: TBD

If it wasn’t already clear, The Shop SLC is the place to be in Salt Lake City this weekend (besides Vivint Arena, of course). Another activation taking place is the “Back in the Day” pop-up put together by Mitchell and Ness, SLAM, and Thrifthood. The space will feature a curated selection of vintage NBA gear from snapbacks to winter coats. Of course, there will be some ‘93 NBA All-Star gear up for grabs, the last time the game was hosted in Salt Lake City. If you need some nostalgia, look no further.

Just Don x Mitchell and Ness

Price: $115-$450

Just Don decided to take it back to the 1993 NBA All-Star Game for its latest collab with Mitchell and Ness. A warm up jacket and pants each feature a mountain graphic inspired by the warmups worn by the Utah Jazz in the late ‘90s. The official ‘93 NBA All-Star crest appears on each along with a Just Don logo. A shimmering sugar crystal version of the same crest is stamped on the chest of a black T-shirt and white long sleeve to round out the offering from Don C.

Jon Stan x New Era

Price: $58.99-$150

New Era has tapped New York City-based designer Jon Stan for a collection of snapbacks to celebrate this weekend’s festivities in Salt Lake City. Stan made a name for himself a few years ago when his custom New Era fitteds featuring embroidered cherubs became favorites of rap stars like Young Thug and the Migos. He started officially collaborating with New Era in 2022. For NBA All-Star Weekend, he has created a snapback, two fitteds, and a hoodie. The fitteds and hoodie are executed in similar fashion with minimal co-branding an a collage of every NBA teams logo. The two-toned snapback is the standout item from the capsule. It features a cream crown, black brim, “Utah” across the front panels in Jon Stan’s signature font, a throwback Jazz-inspired logo stitched on the left side panel, NBA logo on the right panel, and “Salt Lake City” etched across the back in a sunset-like gradient.

Price: $149.99-$199.99

Colm Dillane’s KidSuper has partnered with the NBA and Fanatics to reimagine the jerseys and shorts for all 30 NBA teams. As has become a signature element of KidSuper’s clothing, original artwork from Dillane covers most of the jerseys. Some of the highlights include members of a jazz band spread used as a more literal interpretation for the Utah Jazz, a rainbow extending over a mountain range to represent the Denver Nuggets, and old school Cadillac for the Detroit Pistons, and stallions galloping on a beach to represent the Dallas Mavericks.

Price: TBD

Calyann Barnett is also introducing NBA Closets to Sale Lake City this weekend as part of The Shop SLC experience. As the name suggests, the space will give fans an opportunity purchase new and used pieces they may have seen in the NBA pregame tunnel on their favorite player. The assortment features pieces from Jordan Clarkson, Dwyane Wade, Jimmy Butler, Mike Conley, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul. Barnett curated the collection alongside stylists Khalilah Beavers, Courtney Mays, and Brandon Williams.

2023 NBA All-Star Game Jerseys

Price: $119.99

Ok, so we know the current NBA All-Star jerseys may not be as cool as they were in 1995 and 1996 (a high standard to live up to), but that doesn’t mean that grabbing your favorite players All-Star gear isn’t worth it. Jerseys are available in either blue or orange/yellow gradient styles for superstars like LeBron James, Ja Morant, Stephen Curry, Luka Dončić, and more. Why two options? Rather than the traditional East vs. West format, the NBA is still using the draft system. Team captains James and Giannis Antetokounmpo will not be drafting their teams until hours before the game on Feb. 19. Only then will we know what color each player will be suiting up in.

Price: TBD

Awake NY has linked up with New Era once again for another NBA-inspired collection. This time, Angel Baque’s popular streetwear brand has created a grey hoodie, sweatpants, and bucket hat that have each been covered in a colorful all-over print consisting of various Awake NY and official NBA team logos. If the clothing isn’t your thing, you should still appreciate the campaign. Baque tapped New York City streetball legend George Papoutsis to model the pieces and also featured him in a video hooping at the iconic streetball court, The Cage.

Feature

Price: TBD

Feature has a lot going on over the next few days. In collaboration with Nike, they will be hosting a pop-up featuring a customization station and exclusive sneaker drops. They will also have a second pop-up experience (386 W 500 S, Ste 120) that will act as a mini Feature store and offer product from popular brands like Off-White, Saint Michael, and Rhude. Finally, they will be selling a range of apparel that incorporates official logos of the NBA, Utah Jazz, and 2023 NBA All-Star Game.

Todd Snyder

Price: $130-$348

New York’s Todd Snyder has collaborated with the NBA for the second time on a collection of apparel that fuses sportswear with traditional menswear. Tracksuits made from an Italian cotton-wool blend are available alongside New Era fitted caps made of Harris Tweed. Each team’s hat features its own unique pattern, an official logo on the front panels, and Larry O’Brien trophy stitched on the right side. The Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, and New York Knicks are all represented.

Hypland

Price: $40-$400

Los Angeles-based streetwear brand Hypland brings its anime-inspired approach to the NBA for its latest capsule collection. Eight teams are represented: the Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors, Golden State Warriors, Washington Wizards, and Brooklyn Nets. Graphic T-shirts, hoodies, varsity jackets, and tapestry blankets have been made for each team. Along with official team logos, the pieces showcase new illustrations inspired by each team’s mascot.
