A performance artist in Paris went to great lengths in the name of art. Steven Cohen, an artist from South Africa known for his extravagant handmade costumes, was found guilty of sexual exhibitionism Monday after dancing naked with a rooster tied to his penis near the Eiffel Tower.
Because no one filed a complaint, Cohen was only charged $1,390 by a French court and not arrested.
"Shocking is the first level we break through to get into understanding what—what is underneath the appearance of things," Cohen told he Agence France-Presse. "For me it’s about staying out of the system rather than breaking into it and taking it over."
