Price: $55-$325
Advisory Board Crystals has just released “Artist Recluse,” a new collection that includes collaborations with artist Elliott Hundley, Mattel’s Masters of the Universe and Guess Jeans. The question examines childhood nostalgia, the intersection of art and science, and critical thinking to ponder if the age of the artist recluse is over. Elliott Hundley re-imagine Abc’s signature logo sweatshirt and T-shirt by adding a collage of various photographs, images, and found objects. The brand’s collaboration with Masters of the Universe flips He-Man’s iconic “I have the power” cry into a custom Japanese logo that says “We have the power” as an embroidered trucker hat. A set of T-shirts featuring the characters Evil-Lyn and The Sorceress, and a battling He-man and Skeletor camp shirt, round out the collaboration. Lastly, a Guess Jeans U.S.A. collaboration re-imagines the artist’s splattered studio wardrobe. A hand painted classic striped Guess T-shirt, denim jacket, and jeans in light indigo were distressed and hand painted in Los Angeles, giving each piece a unique look. A standout from the collaboration with Guess is the denim jacket, which features a large custom logo patch on the back with unique embroidery.
