Since President’s Day is coming up this Monday, it’s time to drop some dead presidents on some great new style releases this week. Alife has released a capsule collection with Champion that celebrates HBCUs for Black History Month, Reese Cooper just dropped his first pieces from his Spring/Summer 2021 collection, Palace is dropping new pieces this Friday, and other skateboard brands like GX1000 have also released new products this week.

Alife x Champion HBCU Capsule Collection

Alife has teamed up with Champion and Urban Outfitters to drop an HBCU capsule collection, which champions Historically Black Colleges and Universities in America, institutions of higher education in the United States that were established before the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The collection’s lookbook and video featured, were directed, styled, and photographed by HBCU alumni. A number of prominent HBCUs are featured throughout this collection. During the month of February, five percent of all Alife’s sales will be donated to UNCF and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. In addition, Urban Outfitters will launch “UO Summer Class ’21” this Spring, a 10-week paid internship program where five students from five different HBCUs will receive one-on-one mentoring with leaders within the Urban Outfitters workforce throughout the summer.

Reese Cooper Spring/Summer 2021

The first drop of Reese Cooper’s Spring/Summer 2021 “River Runs Through” collection is now available. The collection utilizes custom fabrics inspired by Cooper’s own exploration outdoors. It is deeply inspired by finding escapism in the outdoors during quarantine, which is documented through graphics and pins across the collection. This season’s bespoke camouflage prints—which are found on jackets, trousers and even a dress—feature imagery of foliage and rocks found along the banks of California’s Lake Piru and neighboring streams. The first drop includes graphic T-shirts, knit sweaters, duck canvas varsity jackets, sweatpants, hoodies, construction pants, leather bags, crewnecks, and more.

Pacsun Circulate Market

Pacsun’s “Circulate Market” has brought together six black-owned brands curated by Pacsun’s brand partner Circulate and its owner Corey Populus for a special capsule collection. The collection includes an assortment of exclusive designs from Circulate, Blondie Beach Records, Bricks & Wood, Carrots, Reserved, and Supervsn Studios. A collaborative T-shirt is also available at select Pacsun stores with 100% of proceeds donated to local causes chosen by the participating brands. The concept and collection was shot by portrait and documentary photographer, Sean Lyles, featuring the brand’s owners wearing their own designs. Pacsun’s SoHo and Downtown Los Angeles flagships will have merch exclusive to those pop-ups. Customers who shop at the pop-ups will also have a chance to win one of two custom BMX bikes by Reserved.

Saintwoods SW.011

Following the brand’s collaboration with Helmut Lang in December, Saintwoods unveils its latest SW.011 collection. New styles from SW.011 include a forest green velour top and bottom set, a laser etched denim jacket, a handmade rugby shirt covered in patches, and a lined flannel jacket with Saintwoods’ Little Devil graphic embroidered on the sleeve. The brand’s latest collection also offers fresh colorways of the brand’s popular staples. The Saintwoods sweatsuit is now availalbe in black and red, the handmade workwear suit is available in tan, and a black iteration of the cozy reversible sherpa returns from last season. Graphic T-shirts and hoodies this season include the Saintwoods Manners T-shirt, a Little Devil hoodie and T-shirt, and a Saintwoods Fish and Game T-shirt and long sleeve.

88rising x Mattel Creations FIGURE8 Toy

88nightmarket, 88rising’s e-commerce platform that specializes in highlighting the culture of night markets from Chinatowns to every Asian neighborhood in between, presents the Lunar New Year Bazarr. It is a month long Lunar New Year celebration featuring exciting collaborations to celebrate and introduce the “Year of the Ox.” To kick off the launch, Mattel Creations is collaborating with 88rising for a special product release, which is a limited edition Figure8 toy and T-shirt. On Feb. 12, an Ssense Works and 88rising T-shirt and hoodie will also be available at 88nightmarket along with the aforementioned products that are currently available on StockX.

True to Us "The Lovers Tee"

True to Us, an online platform for Black and Brown womxn looking to be seen and heard in the sneaker and streetwear industry, has released new product. Created by New York creative Jourdan Ash, True to Us uses Instagram and audio storytelling to bridge the gap between consumer and brands while opening the doors for those seeking opportunities within the streetwear and sneaker industry. True to Us’ limited-edition Valentine’s Day themed tee, “The Lovers,” is inspired by the founder’s infatuation with astrology and tarot cards.

Pangaia "C-Fiber" Collection

Pangaia’s newest innovation is “C-Fiber,” a natural and regenerative material developed by the brand. C-Fiber is produced through the unique fusion of eucalyptus pulp and seaweed powder. The seaweed used in C-Fiber is harvested in Iceland every four years, which allows for full regeneration in between. The debut C-Fiber collection will include a heavyweight crewneck T-shirt, a lightweight crewneck T-shirt, and a heavyweight silky dress all completely made out of C-Fiber. These products will be available in cobalt blue, navy, rosemary green, apple red and neutral colors such as black, stone and off white. C-Fiber will be integrated across Pangaia’s product offerings and will be available for other brands to use going forward.

Moncler Year of The Ox Capsule

Moncler’s special Year of the Ox capsule for the Chinese New Year is now available in Moncler boutiques. The range for men and women includes celestial depictions of the night sky that represent the zodiacal Ox in the constellation for 2021. A long sleeve shirt and a hat are currently available. A puffer hoodie, puffer jacket, scarf, and cardigan wil be available at Moncler boutiques and retailers in the near future.

GX1000 Spring/Summer 2021

The San Francisco-based skateboard outfit GX1000 has released new merch for Spring/Summer 2021. Highlights from the crew’s latest release include T-shirts and decks made in collaboration with the photographer Dave Schubert. Hoodies, T-shirts, chore coats, reversible quilt jackets, woven shirts, hunting masks, and fanny packs are now available online.

Billionaire Boys Club Spring/Summer 2021

Billionaire Boys Club’s latest collection is titled ‘Space Cowboys.’ The collection is BBC’s own take on the wild west that weaves classic Billionaire Boys Club iconography into a cohesive collection. The Space Cowboys Spring 2021 collection features key pieces such as a denim Japanese style work coat, a Flight Jacket with embroidery details, and cargo pants with embellishments and tassels. All the pieces feature graphics that blend the worlds of desert and space.

Budweiser x Mitchell & Ness

Budweiser has collaborated with throwback jersey authority Mitchell & Ness for a series of limited edition cans. 24 teams including the Lakers, Bulls, Knicks, Sixers, and more will be represented by cans and aluminum bottles bearing one of their Hardwood Classics retro logos. To go along with the special release, Mitchell & Ness has also released a series of co-branded T-shirts and snapbacks for fans to rep their favorite team. Like the cans, each piece of apparel displays a throwback team logo alongside gold Budweiser branding hits. The cans will be available for purchase in select stores in each team’s respective market for a limited time.

Vans for Black History Month

Vans has unveiled a limited-time footwear collaboration that highlights the work of four rising Black artists for Black History Month. The artists Rewina Beshue, Sydney G. James, Chris Martin, and Tony Whlgn have all designed exclusive pairs of Vans that are now available. Vans will also be donating $40,000 to the Black Arts Future Fund, which will help fund granting efforts to small and community-based Black arts organizations across the country. Vans fans can also support the Black Art Futures Fund by donating their Vans Family points up to $25,000 within the US. Additionaly, Vans has reintroduced it’s “Foot the Bill” program to support small businesses who have been deeply impacted by the pandemic. Along with highlighting these four artists, Vans will spotlight three Black-owned businesses each week , such as 606 Records in Chicago and Harriet’s Bookshop in Philadelphia.

Skechers x JGoldcrown

Launching in time for Valentine’s Day, internationally renowned muralist James Goldcrown brings his iconic Love Wall heart designs to Skechers footwear. The Skechers x JGoldcrown collaboration features the artist’s colorful prints on a range of lifestyle products for women and girls. The initial launch includes “Uno” fashion sneakers, retro ‘90s “Roadies” sneakers, “Bobs” rain boots, canvas slip-ons, and sandals. Additional styles as well as an apparel collection will launch later.
