April is finally here and that means temperatures are starting to warm up. So, it’s about time to start packing away those winter pieces to make room for other styles that are more fitting for the hotter months ahead. Thankfully, there are a ton of great releases to consider this week.

Awake NY is releasing a highly-anticipated collaboration with Carhartt WIP for one of its strongest releases this season. Meanwhile, Heaven by Marc Jacobs has tapped Ice Spice and Lil Uzi Vert to model its latest Y2K-inspired wares. Aimé Leon Dore has released a new sneaker with New Balance, Post Archive Faction has released another bold collection of cutting-edge techwear, and Adsum is collaborating with the heritage climbing brand Gramicci.

Post Archive Faction, a South Korean high fashion label with a fresh perspective on Gorpcore, has just released the second drop of its Spring/Summer 2023 collection. The label continues to produce futuristic technical apparel while also riffing off of traditional silhouettes and materials. Its latest collection includes balaclavas constructed with floral lace fabric, translucent button-up shirts with asymmetrical zippers, and Gore-Tex jackets outfitted with inflatable life vests.

Awake NY has teamed up with Carhartt WIP on a distinct eight-piece capsule collection that pairs Carhartt WIP’s signature workwear with Awake NY’s bold graphics and embroidery. An “OG” active jacket and a pair of double knee pants are produced with Carhartt WIP’s beloved Dearborn Canvas and boast a detailed floral motif by Awake NY. A hooded sweatshirt, beanie, and cardigan boasting co-branded logos are also available. The most coveted piece from the drop is a varsity jacket with faux leather sleeves that features chain stitched embroidery calling out cities like Quito, Mexico City, San Juan, and more.

Kenzo

NIGO’s latest for Kenzo is the “Varsity Jungle” collection. The Japanese luxury label’s latest release features a playful collection of graphic T-shirts, sweatshirts, and cardigans. The collection is centered on two distinct graphic prints featuring an elephant and a tiger. The elephant graphic designed by NIGO is inspired by a 1950’s sailor tattoo. The tiger in the collection was previously introduced in Kenzo’s Fall/Winter 2022 line. Cotton T-shirts, embroidered jersey sweatshirts, and cardigans with the elephant are available in black, white, blue, and pink colorways. Items bearing the tiger motif are available in black, white,red and green.

Adsum x Gramicci

The Brooklyn-based label Adsum is collaborating with Gramicci, a heritage climbing brand refreshed by Japanese aesthetics, for their first-ever capsule collection. The standout piece within the collection is a Photo Print Cargo Pant that features graphic prints pulled form old Gramicci marketing photos from the 1990s. Another highlight is the Shell Gear Short, an internally belted short made from a water resistant recycled nylon. There’s also the Tulip Hat, a two-sided organic cotton twill bucket hat that provides all around sun protection to the wearer’s head. The capsule is rounded out by a collection of graphic T-shirts, full-zip hoodies, and workshirts. The T-shirts feature co-branded logos and archival photographs.

Brigade has just released a Pre-Spring 2023 capsule that includes two graphic T-shirts and a trucker cap. The T-shirts feature graphics that reference vintage cycling advertisements and old school music stores. The label’s new trucker hat pays homage to the 50th anniversary of hip-hop by referencing the Rock Steady Crew with a typeface that is closely associated with New York City break dancers during hip-hop’s earliest years.

Heaven by Marc Jacobs has returned this week with an exciting new campaign to promote its second drop this season. Ice Spice, Lil Uzi Vert, and Michele Lamy were some of the iconic faces that appeared wearing the label’s latest wares. Heaven’s second drop this season includes oversized graphic T-shirts, cropped graphic hoodies, and distressed knit sweaters. Standouts include dresses and zip-off long sleeve shirts with graphics by Come Tees. Small accessories like rings and earrings are also available.

Salomon teamed up with the UK-based upcycler Greater Goods to create a special 1:1 jacket that celebrates the outdoor label’s innovative trail running and ski apparel. Two pairs of Salomon ski pants, a hydration vest, two jackets, and two fleece garments were upcycled into this unique hydration jacket. The jacket boasts a ridiculous number of pockets, includes three reservoirs for water, seven flasks, several soft cups, a first aid kit, and a survival blanket. Originally unveiled as an April Fools joke, this jacket is 100 percent real and can only be attained by winning a raffle being held for charity. Anyone who makes a €10 donation to Opening Up The Outdoors, a not-for-profit initiative that focuses on the creating more inclusion and diversity in the outdoor space, between now and April 10 will be entered for a chance to win.

Nanamica has recently released its Spring/Summer 2023 collection, which is built around the theme of “heartwarming life-tech wear.” There’s a new crunchy Gore-Tex Coach’s Jacket that’s perfect for everyday commutes. Crewnecks and sleeveless T-shirts crafted from innovative Kondenshi fabric help keep the wearer’s skin at an optimal temperature during hot summer days. Seersucker jackets and pants produced with an antique weaving machine are some of the more dapper looks to pull from Nanamica’s latest collection. Those looking for unique technical apparel silhouettes can look towards standouts like the brand’s hooded jacket and cardigan constructed from its trademark 65% polyester-35% cotton mixed yarn fabric. Aimé Leon Dore’s unveiled its latets sneaker collaboration with New Balance this week. The New York City-based label has added its touch to the New Balance 860v2. The sneakers boast a cream mesh upper, silver and light brown accents, and subtle ALD branding. Pairs with red, blue, or green accents are available that are vaguely reminiscent of popular North Face jackets from the ‘90s.

Brandon Blackwood has just released its Spring 2023 collection. To date, it is one of the New York City-based label’s most luxurious collections. Oil leather, gold-plated handles, and hand woven leathers are incorporated into Blackwood’s signature accessories. Vault by Vans x Shane Gonzales

Vault by Vans has collaborated with Shane Gonzales of Midnight Studios to produce their first footwear collaboration together. Dubbed “Star Spangled Glamour,” the collection features Gonzales’ take on the Old Skool VLT LX, Authentic Zip VLT LX, and Sk8-Hi Reissue Strap VLT LX. Chrome, leather, and denim materials are incorporated into each sneaker to pay homage to Sunset Boulevard. The Old Skool VLT LX sneakers are covered in black leather and feature traditional Western cowboy embroidery. The Authentic Zip VLT LX is covered in blue denim and includes hidden laces and chrome detailing. Lastly, the Sk8-Hi Reissue Strap VLT LX in black leather features motorcycle jacket details such as collars, epaulets, and buckles.

Timberland has just released its first “Future 73” collection, which is a series of collaborations that will celebrate Timberland’s 50th anniversary. The first drop comes from Clot founder Edison Chen. The collaboration is anchored by a reimagined take on Timberland’s classic 6-inch boot that features tiger print panels and an embossed Buddhist proverb in Chinese characters that translates into: “If this exists, that exists; if this ceases to exist, that also ceases to exist.” The collection also includes workwear and military-inspired apparel such as a kimono chore coat, quilted vest, cargo pants with graphic embroidery, an overshirt with graphic embroidery, a pullover hoodie, a T-shirt with embroidered chest graphics, and a quilted wrap.

Disorder Skateboards x Marcos Alvarado

Nyjah Huston’s label, Disorder Skateboards, has teamed up with viral fine artist Marcos Alvarado to release a collaborative capsule collection centered around Alvarado’s art. T-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, and a trucker hat adorned with Alvarado’s take on X-Rays accompanied by his signature spiritual elements are available alongside four skateboard decks.

Algorand x Lil Durk

Algorand has collaborated with Lil Durk to release “NXTG3NZ” Digital Wearables for a 7220 phygital sneaker collection. The collection’s public minting event will go live on Monday and 11,111 pairs of custom designed phygital sneakers will be released on the Algorand blockchain. The 7220 NXTG3NZ digital collectibles sold will also come with a physical version of the shoe. In addition to the digital collectible and physical sneakers, 7220 NXTG3NZ holders will also receive exclusive benefits such as access to Lil Durk experiences, concerts, and more. The earliest minters will also have the opportunity to design a pair of sneakers with Lil Durk.

Ralph Lauren has just introduced the Polo Mirum sneaker. It’s the brand’s first piece of footwear crafted out of Mirum; a new plant-based material from Natural Fiber Welding that is 100% plastic-free. Created without relying on petrochemical or synthetic inputs, the sneaker is made out of natural rubber, cotton, cork, plant oil, and plant wax. The sneaker is a high-top style that vaguely resembles a winter hiking boot and boasts hits of red. A bag made out of Mirum with the exact same color scheme is also available.
