In elementary school, many of us spent time doodling in class while our teacher barked at us to pay attention. You might not be impressed by those drawings, but check out these cool recreations of some of music’s most iconic album covers drawn by little kids. These amateur copycat portraits include The Beatles’ Abbey Road, Fleetwood Mac’s Penguin and 2Pac’s All Eyez on Me, and they are bound to put a grin on any music lover’s face. Although some of the stick figures do not have visible limbs, and you will notice plenty of wacky color combinations, all of the drawings blow our childhood drawings out of the water. U2, All That You Can't Leave Behind
Drawn by: Tim
The young artist was able to capture the calm, cool, and collected attitude this band is so famous for. He donned his stick figures with sunglasses and even gave them matching prison outfits.
Fleetwood Mac, Penguin
Drawn by: Tim
Although some people might not be able to tell that the main figure in this piece is a penguin, they can at least admire the artist's use of color in this recreation of the album art on Fleetwood Mac's Penguin.
Rush, Fly By Night
Drawn by: Samantha
This kid's recreation of the artwork on Rush's Fly By Night gives off the same gloomy dark effect that the original album cover does with its dark, cool colors. The eyelashes on the owl are a nice touch as well.
The Beatles, Abbey Road
Drawn by: Tim
Tim chose to recreate what is perhaps the world's most iconic album cover. With more color than the original artwork, Tim appears to have had fun with his set of Crayola markers.
Devo, Freedom of Choice
Drawn by: Samantha
This kid's version of the artwork done on Devo's Freedom of Choice does the band justice, especially when considering the detail on those one-of-kind hats.
2pac, All Eyez on Me
Drawn by: Yung Lenox
It's no wonder this seven-year-old had his first solo show displaying his rap-themed portraits open at Gallery 1988 West in L.A. this month. This kid is talented, and his skill is proven in this very accurate recreation of the famed 2Pac album cover, All Eyez on Me. Young Lenox captured 2Pac's signature swag and used contrasting colors to produce an amazing visual effect.
Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon
Drawn by: Tim
In this recreation of one the most iconic rock-n-roll album covers of all time, you might be shocked at the child's choice of background color. He must really like orange.
The Eagles, Hotel California
Drawn by: Tim
What truly stands out in Tim's recreation of the artwork on the famed rock-n-roll album, Hotel California, are the palm trees, which just so happen to be bright red.
The Flaming Lips, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
Drawn by: Samantha
Being that Samantha decided to draw her entire recreation of Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots in pink, we have determined that pink must be her favorite color.
Weird Al Yankovic, Bad Hair Day
Drawn by: Tim
Tim surely knows how to capture a bad hair day. Not only was he able to recreate Yankovic's messy dreadlocks, he also chose to dye them blue.
The Microphones, The Glow Pt. 2
Drawn by: Unknown
This kid's elephant looks more friendly than fierce, but the young artist managed to successfully capture the glow of the burning fire with bright red.
The Beatles, Yellow Submarine
Drawn by: Sophie
It's hard to believe anyone can truly recreate anything Beatles-related, but Sophie knew how to give life to the band's magical yellow submarine. In looking at her recreation's attention to detail and use of vibrant colors, how can you not believe we all live in a yellow submarine?
Counting Crows, This Desert Life
Drawn by: Samantha
Kid artist Samantha truly adheres to the band's lyric, "I am colorblind..." in incorporating blue, purple, and orange in her recreation of the album cover of This Desert Life.
Bruno Mars, Doo Wops & Hooligans
Drawn by: Tim
Bruno Mars would probably smile upon this recreation of the artwork on his first studio album, Doo Wops & Hooligans. Although he's portrayed as an armless stick figure, how can anyone not love this kid's version of the long, winding road that lies before soulful pop musician?
Raekwon, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
Drawn by: Yung Lenox
How could we not include another album cover recreation by Yung Lenox? The kid's artistic tribute to rapper Raekwon captures the vibrant color and fierce expressions of the figures in the original album artwork.
