It’s finally The Weekend in Toronto aka OVO Fest bka Caribana. Drake dropped his festival smack dab in the middle of the city’s Caribbean carnival weekend six years ago and has been running ever since. With crowd favorites like Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg, as well as island kings Beenie Man and Machel Montano, Drizzy will have Molson Amphitheatre on fire as the rest of the city plays mas on di road. So, what do you wear to the hottest weekend of the year? If the feathered headdresses and bejeweled costumes of mass are too real for you, we have a short list of fits that should help you find your love in the crowd. Note: Like Thugga, these suggestions don’t believe in gender.

A Short Set

There’s never been a man alive that loves a short set like Drake. Terry cloth, vintage Dada, linen, or sweats—material doesn’t matter. The boy likes his calves out and peeking above his Timbs, and so should you. Obviously, it will be hot, but we're taking style tips from the man who wore a full sweatsuit to a jerk chicken basement party with Rihanna. A short set means you already have two pieces in one and can be efficient with your time—and time is money. Plus, you can watch the guy next to you in the Balmain jeans sweat moto print into his thigh muscles. Add the deep pockets for concert essentials like phone, wallet, keys, and a sweat rag, and you’re off. Don't overthink getting dressed.

All White

No matter what you choose to wear, it should be set that this is your weekend to fleek your tan up. All white with the Js is the West Indian old man staple, and you can got back n forth to both fests with one look. (Plus Drake lives to dress like an old West Indian / Southern man.) How will you keep from getting dirty? It’s actually an old trick: Stay away from coffee, hold all plates and cups just far enough away from you that they are parallel to the toes of your shoes, and lean over your plate when you eat. It sounds complicated, but generations have been doing it just fine. So get out the starch and trouser press, and be your best Cokeboy. Just make sure you oil up, so that your fit is the only thing that’s white—nobody likes ashy ankles, bro!

A Basic Tee and Sweats

Drake is the king of “did I just leave the gym or nah?” style, because a workout thot has standards, and a thirst trap is always one click away. Even the most hypermasculine lame knows that good quality grey sweats and a fresh tee that can slip off quickly— please have the matching abs— is like Tinder Live. Athleisure is the name of the game, and Drake is it’s greatest disciple. So put together your best CrossFit jawns and let your kicks and chains steal the show. Even the ladies know Drake loves them “sweatpants / hair up / chillin with no make up on,” but forget that— throw on some leggings, and let your summer highlighter be the star.

A Gawdy Blouse

Obviously, the easiest choice here would be Versace, but Drake doesn't limit himself and neither should you. The requirements: flashy, silky, and distracting. If you can match them with some Cartier frames, then you, sir, have won the weekend. Hopefully, you have the funds to back up your look, or you can get a good roasting. But, you don’t have to do it all goofy "West Palm Beach dad," like Drake. Look to headliner Wiz Khalifa for wearing a really great blouse to sexy effect.

Mesh Marina

Since it’s Carribean Carnival Weekend, honor the man who loves island style more than anybody else. It’s very much a part of the TO landscape, and if you want to look fly and keep cool, a mesh marina tank top or dress is the go-to heatwave staple. Customize yours to match your country flag or just rep the 6 in blinding Canada snow white. It’s sexy, it’s ventilated, and it’s #onbrand. Wearing stuff under it is up to you, but if more than half the mesh is laying on anything other than your skin, you have failed tremendously.
