The Top 10 Fashion Collabs of 2017 (So Far)
We’re only halfway into the year, but have seen enough fashion collabs to last an entire presidency. We’ve rounded up ten of the brightest and weirdest.
Nike x Off-White
Louis Vuitton x Supreme
Parisian luxury leather meets New York streetwear in one of the most polarizing shows from this season. No matter which side you’re on, you can’t deny the result packs a punch. The two iconic logos are tiled onto suitcases, shirts, sneakers and leather smallgoods – many in the Supreme-red colourway. According to rumours, the collection will drop at three pop-up stores in Los Angeles, New York and Miami on June 30.
Vetements x Everyone
Vetements’ Spring 2017 collection showcased collabs with a staggering 18 fashion houses. Doesn’t matter what subculture you belong to – you’ll find something to your liking here. There’s workwear by Carhartt, denim by Levi’s, tracksuits by Juicy Couture, streetwear by Champion and Reebok, snow gear by Canada Goose, and even suits by Brioni – yes, the label worn by James Bond.
Reebok x Doraemon
Thrasher x Parra
Junya Watanabe x Lacoste
A Japanese iconoclast reimagines a French sportswear staple. The result is a snappy tee with a fearsome croc graphic printed beneath the OG logo.
Travis Scott x Helmut Lang
It’s been a busy year for Travis Scott. Aside from setting and breaking records on tour (14x Goosebumps in Arkansas, 15x Goosebumps in Ohio), dropping new singles, and working on his new record Astroworld, he’s also managed to collab with the prestigious Helmut Lang label. This collection evokes imagery and motifs from Travis’ Rodeo and Birds albums.
Fenty Puma by Rihanna
In just two seasons, Rihanna has already cemented her legacy in the fashion world. Her Spring 2017 collection, inspired by “Marie Antoinette at the gym” is now available online. A standout is this hoodie slip – perfect for hopping out of bed and onto the treadmill.
Colette x Balenciaga
Balenciaga is currently holding a six-week residency at Parisian retailer Colette, which includes installations, an art exhibition, as well as select pieces from the 2017 FW collection. One of the most hyped items is an all-red Speed Trainer with Balenciaga branding all over.
Adidas x Raf Simons
Please don’t touch my Raf. The Ozweego III sneakers come in four colourways, including this insane red/black combo. They feature a leather and textile upper, mesh lining, EVA midsole, Poron performance cushioning sockliner and a rubber outsole. Essentially, they’ll feel like buttery-leathery clouds on your feet.
