Fashion designer Rick Owens is refusing to let life pass him by without a bit of "transgression."
After years of having his fair share of controversies, the 63-year-old is putting his foot down and starting a fetish-focused OnlyFans, which he revealed in a new interview with WWD.
Owens said he's grown tired of seeing "prissy moralism" and "judgment" and wants to respond with defiance. "It is my way of saying, ‘Lighten up, don’t take it all so seriously.’ A little bit of wicked fun is elegant," he said about his form of "protest."
In starting an OnlyFans, where he'll exclusively be showing his bare feet, Owens took a page from the book of 19th-century Italian aristocrat Virginia Oldoini, Countess of Castiglione. In her final years, La Castiglione tucked herself away in a mirrorless apartment, where she "reduced her life to photographing her feet."
"I thought it was an interesting way of addressing aging," Owens said.
While Owens' colleagues have reservations about the designer joining OF, he's made risqué promotional decisions for years, and showing feet seems to be his most tame.
"I’m like, I started my career with a picture of me pissing into my mouth," Owens told WWD. "I mean, this is the most innocent thing I’ve ever done."
During Paris Fashion Week, Owens gave a grid-style preview of his feet content at his Temple of Love fashion retrospective at Paris’s Palais Galliera.
Someone who might appreciate Owens' OnlyFans content is Tyler, the Creator, who has made it a point in the past to let the world know he's a proud foot lover.
In July 2023, Tyler retweeted a post he shared on December 25, 2010. "I Watch Foot Porn. No Lie, I Have A Foot Fetish," the original tweet read. "It's Weird. I Devour Bitches Toes."
