Jaden Smith has finally shared his first offerings after joining Christian Louboutin as their first men's creative director.

The ERYS artist spoke about being booked for the distinguished gig in a new Vogue profile and shared that he was "shocked and surprised" when the French fashion designer contacted him.

"But I was even more surprised about how much we clicked. I think that Christian [trusts] me. And I trust in his belief in me," said the 27-year-old.

As the profile details, Smith and Louboutin met at Paris Fashion Week in 2019 and years later, it was the rapper's "rich and multidimensional" style quality that made Louboutin extend him the position. News of Smith landing his new position at Louboutin and relocating to Paris was announced last September, with Smith telling WWD that it was one of the "biggest honors" he's gotten.

Smith, the son of actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, also acknowledged to Vogue that although he hasn't received formal design training, it's creatives like him who "paint outside of the box in weird ways." "Because they don’t know where the boxes are," he continued.

Smith also recalled that upon relocating to Europe, one of his first treks for Louboutin was to visit the brand's factories around Campania, Italy, which gave him "a real appreciation and understanding, and changed the way I look at shoes and fashion."

Smith's debut Fall 2026 collection for Louboutin launched this month, and includes statement black caps, red and black slingback loafers and fur-coated boots.

"I feel like fashion is all about expressing yourself: radical expression through art," Smith told Vogue. "And all I can say about myself is that I’m really honored to be here, and I’m blessed and I’m happy. I’m going to do the best that I can do with the opportunities that I have."
